About The Mystery of Edwin Drood

This hilarious musical whodunit was a smash hit on Broadway where it received rave reviews. Loosely based on Charles Dickens' famous unfinished novel, it takes audience participation to new heights by letting them directly effect the play's outcome by voting for whomever they think murdered the unfortunate young Edwin Drood. Presented as a 'first night performance by The Music Hall Royale', a troupe of decidedly hammy Victorian actors, this affectionate recreation of a bygone theatrical age is certain to prove an enormous hit with everyone. The witty and tuneful score contains such numbers as "There You Are", "Moonfall", Perfect Strangers" and "Off To The Races"

Burrell High School Drama Club

Burrell High School Drama Club prides itself on its entirely student run productions.  Students construct the set, fill all cast roles, tech and cue the show and run all consoles.  The club stages two main stage productions a year.  A play in the fall and a musical in the spring.  The group is overseen by director and supervisor Martin Connolly.  This year's officers are President and senior deck stage manager Haley Miller, Vice President and sophomore production stage manager Evvy Blatstein, Treasurer and junior deck stage manager Emma Hayes, and Senior Set  Chair and Secretary Hannah Fisher.

Burrell High School Drama Club has an inclusive philosphy that means any student at BHS can find a place within the production.  However, we pride ourselves on our ability to prepare those who want to move on to make careers of theatre to enter college and university programs that will make those aspirations possible.  You can currently find Burrell High School Drama Club alums in both MFA and BFA design and technical programs studying their craft, as well as actors training to pursue dreams on stage at the University level.

The long standing creative team, which has been producing plays and musicals for over a decade together, includes only four adults: Connolly, who directs, Mallory Codita, choreographer and properties coordinator, Nancy Albinini, costume designer, and Richard Farinelli, music director.
