Common questions about On The Stage (OTS)
Where is On The Stage available?
On The Stage serves organizations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, though we encourage organizations outside of those territories to get in touch - we’d love to see if we can help.
Does On The Stage require a contract?
No, On The Stage does not typically require a contract, though many organizations choose to have one anyway for their own peace of mind. Talk to our team to find the setup that fits your organization.
Do I need to download an app or software to use On The Stage?
No. On The Stage is fully web-based, so you can manage events, sales, and marketing from any browser on a computer, tablet, or phone — nothing to install or update. Ticket buyers don't need an app or an account either; they purchase via a mobile-first checkout flow, and can manage their orders, subscriptions, perks, donations, gift cards, and more in a dedicated Patron Portal - no password required.
What payment processor does On The Stage use?
On The Stage processes payments through OTS Payments, its built-in payment processing powered by Stripe. OTS Payments eliminates the need for customers to maintain their own payment processing account, and provides superior security, enhanced chargeback protections, daily direct deposits, and integrated reporting. Learn more on the OTS Payments page.
Can On The Stage replace my current ticketing platform?
Yes. On The Stage replaces your ticketing system and can also handle your email marketing, websites, payment processing, fundraising, point of sale, and more in the same platform. OTS migrates your historical patron, order, donation, and subscription data from your old system, so you can start marketing to your existing audience from day one. If you'd rather keep certain tools, OTS integrates with platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and Meta.
Why does On The Stage require a W-9?
On The Stage requires a W-9 because it processes payments and pays ticket revenue out to your organization, and US tax law requires payment processors to collect taxpayer information from the businesses they pay. You'll submit it once during account setup.
What types of events can I sell tickets for using On The Stage?
On The Stage supports nearly any live event: theater productions, concerts, dance recitals, comedy shows, festivals, galas and fundraisers, visitor attractions, classes, and camps. You can sell general admission or reserved seating, run single events or full seasons, and host free events.
How do I get started with On The Stage?
The fastest way to get started with On The Stage is to book a demo, where the OTS team will walk through the platform and set you up for your first event. Once your account is live, creating an event and starting ticket sales takes two minutes or less.
