ANASTASIA: THE MUSICAL
Book by Terrence McNally
Music by Stephen Flaherty
Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens

Inspired by the Twentieth Century Fox Motion Pictures by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical

From the play by Marcelle Maurette as adapted by Guy Bolton

From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this dazzling show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.

West Boylston MHS Theatre

Welcome to Theatre at West Boylston Middle High School.

As part of the curriculum, students take Exploration in Drama in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In high school, students have the opportunity to take both Drama Workshop and Performing Arts Workshop, both that culminate in dramatic and musical performances, respectively. Post-pandemic, the theatre program at West Boylston has continued to grow, with the addition of a Technical Theatre Foundations class added to the curriculum inn 2021 and the addition of Film Acting/Production in 2022.

In addition to classes, students have the opportunity to act in fall play productions as an extra-curricular activity as well earn points to become a part of West Boylston's chapter of the International Thespian Society: Troupe 6514. The International Thespian Society students take part in several drama-related activities throughout the year including the annual Massachusetts Thespian Festival and our own Improv Night - which debuted in 2019 and was an instant hit.

For the 2023 - 2024 school year,  our performance opportunities for students will include She Kills Monsters, and our Performing Arts Workshop's spring musical Anastasia in May 2024.

We thank you for your continued support of our program.
