”Mr. Joel” (as his dance students call him) has a multi-faceted background which includes performing in musicals, plays, video, film, modeling and radio. He fondly remembers his first performance on stage…. as a singing and dancing marshmallow. It’s been uphill all the way! Since his humble beginnings, Joel has worked with many regional theatre companies. His favorite shows include “George M” (playing George), “Crazy for You” (playing Bobby) and “Jesus Christ Superstar” (direction). Another favorite was performing in a touring production of “The Nutcracker”. Over the years, Joel has worked or studied with many great teachers including; Sabina Copilu, Jim Caisse, Terrie Legien, Jason Samuels-Smith, Robin Dunn, Frank Hatchett, Sheila Barker and Crystal Chapman, just to name a few. (His favorite tap teacher is still Christine!) Joel is excited to be directing the first Centerstage division play for Vanilla Box Productions and hopes you enjoy the production.
