Black Box Film 2021 CREW

Meet our creative, technical, & production teams!

Carroll Stevens: Fine Arts Director

Carroll Stevens began his love of theatre as an orphan in Oliver! when he was in junior high.  He’s thrilled that he now gets to help students learn some of his favorite show tunes in his role as music director.  Carroll’s favorite part of theatre is being part of a team that brings together a myriad of art forms and talents to tell an engaging story.  Carroll’s other roles at PCA are serving as the school’s Fine Arts Director and teaching choral and general music.  He’s married to violinist and artist Susie Stevens and together they have 5 children who have all attended PCA.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing disc golf, and tuning pianos.

Melissa Weisberg: The Internet is Distract - Oh, Look a Kitten! Director

Melissa is so excited to direct this year’s Junior High Black Box production. She has assisted in producing shows, such as Mary Poppins, here at PCA. Past directing credits include A Christmas Carol, The Odd Couple, and Little Women in Virginia, as well as the one-act comedy Hard Candy at a Christian school in South Portland, Maine.

Abi Eisner (11th Grade): Oz Director

Abigail Eisner is thrilled to be able to direct this year's Winter Black Box show, Oz! Over the course of her five years at PCA, she’s taken part in numerous theatre productions, some of her favorites being Mary Poppins (as "Jane") and These Shining Lives (as "Frances"). This year she’s enjoying the chance to learn the inner workings of show production and taking on a directorship role. She wants to thank her mentor, Ms. Kelli Connors (Director of PCA's Pirates of Penzance, The Sound of Music, and this spring's The Little Mermaid) for being such an incredible teacher to her through the process, and Ms. Plante for being so patient with her mistakes.

Kelli Leigh-Ann Connors: Student Director Mentor

Kelli is a freelance theatre artist who has enjoyed a forty-year career in the performing arts, with a multitude of roles and awards to her credit. As an actor, Kelli holds the distinction of having played the title role in Evita for five different regional theaters. She is a performing member of Power Play, an applied theatre company that uses theatre laboratories to bring awareness of real world situations, like micro-aggression and bias in the workplace. As a director, Kelli has more than 85 major theatre works to her credit. She has received a multitude of Spotlight nominations and is the recipient of the Best Director Award for her production of Annie at the Rochester Opera House, as well as the proud recipient of the Kids Free to Grow Award given by the York County Child Abuse and Protection Agency for her work with abuse prevention theatre. For the past 11 years, Kelli has served as the theatre educator in the Gifted and Talented Program for MSAD 60, and is a published author of three plays through Eldridge Publishing.

James Lotter (12th Grade): Technical Director

James is excited to have the opportunity to both participate and lead in tech from home. After having worked on Guys and Dolls in Spring of 2020, James developed a new skill-set in virtual production and looks forward to continuing the trend for this year’s Black Box. While the show itself cannot be in-person, he hopes to create an immersive atmosphere for the viewer with his use of audio and visual components. He would like to thank Krish Kothimbakam for all his mentorship and aid throughout the years. It's not the same without you, brother.
