Into the Woods Cast

Alena Riley (The Witch)
This is Alena’s third show at KCKCC. You might have seen her in last year’s production of Heathers the Musical as Martha. She is extremely excited to be a part of this production as The Witch; it’s a role that is completely different from previous roles she has played. She really hopes she can do it justice! She would like to thank her family, friends, and director, Cinnamon Schultz, for being so supportive and always believing in her talent and pushing her to always do her best. She hopes you all enjoy the performance and that you may even learn something from it.
Alex Gumminger (Narrator/Mysterious Man)
Alex is a sophomore at KCKCC, and this is his third production here, last seen in Heathers the Musical and The Election. He has performed with numerous community theatres in the Kansas City area including The Barn Players, Inspired Purpose, and Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park. In addition to performing, he has also been a Dance Captain and Assistant Choreographer for a number of productions. Previous community credits include High School Musical 1&2, The Wizard of Oz, The Addams Family, and Chicago. Many thanks to friends and family for their never-ending support.
Alex Hatch (Rapunzel’s Prince)
Alex is a graduate of Turner High School. Into the Woods will mark his fifth production. He was previously seen in Lobby Hero, also directed by Cinnamon Schultz. This is his second year at KCKCC, and he plans to graduate next semester.
Courtney Koval (Baker’s Wife)
After a few years away, Courtney is excited to be in her third production at KCKCC and thrilled to be in Into the Woods for her third time as well! She will next be seen at The Chestnut Fine Arts Center in Down by the Riverside in Spring 2020. Some of her favorite roles include Shirley- The Buddy Holly Story, Cinderella- Into the Woods, Lady of the Lake- Monty Python’s Spamalot, Grace- Annie Warbucks, Hodel- Fiddler on the Roof, and Mother Superior- Sound of Music. Courtney thanks her fiancé Michael, family, and friends for all their love and support! Enjoy the show!
Breanna Danielle (Cinderella’s Stepmother)
Is excited to be returning to the KCKCC stage. She was last seen here as Daniela in In the Heights. She has appeared and directed a number of shows in the KC area and is currently working at the University of Saint Mary as the Theatre Coordinator and Instructor. She would like to thank her family for their love and support!
Erich Kump (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf)
Erich is a graduate of KCKCC and a current student at Park University. He has been in 12 musicals and plays including 3 here at KCKCC. He plans to continue theatre throughout the future.
Katie Kreutzjans (Lucinda)
This is Katie’s first show at KCKCC. She is looking forward to helping with future productions this year. She’d like to thank her mom and sisters for always supporting her and being her rock.
Marge Veglahn (Little Red)
Marge is thrilled to be returning to KCKCC after playing Heather MacNamera in Heathers the Musical last year! Local credits: The Living Room (Milking Christmas, Carousel), KCRep (Carousel, A Christmas Carol), The Barn Players (13, Shrek, Big), The White Theatre (Newsies, Kindertransport, To Kill a Mockingbird), and Shawnee Mission East (Medea, Dearly Departed, Our Town). She is in her senior year of high school at SME and also enjoys singing in the Youth Chorus of Kansas City. All love to this incredible group at KCKCC.
Sheridan Smith (Jack)
This is Sheridan Smith’s ninth production at KCKCC and his fourth acting in. His previous KCKCC credits include Young Frankenstein, (Dr. Frankenstein), Night Watch (Mr. Appleby), and Lobby Hero (Jeff) and ensemble in Heathers the Musical. He was last seen making his directorial debut in the fall production of Doubt: a Parable. He hopes to continue his life in the theatre as a film or theatre director. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Skylar Harper (Jack’s Mother)
Tonight, Skylar Harper will be seen as Jack’s Mother. Into the Woods is Skylar’s third production at KCKCC and she is beyond excited to have the opportunity to share a stage with some of her favorite people. Skylar is grateful for her family and friends who support her as she pursues her dreams, but most importantly, Skylar hopes you enjoy the show!
Toriana Wright (Florinda)
This is Toriana’s third production at KCKCC. She is thrilled to be back for her second year, and grateful to everyone who came to see the show.
Trevor Thoelke (Baker)
Trevor has been involved in musical theatre since 2001, when he was only four years old. After that, he has had many experiences in musical theatre. In his high school career, he portrayed Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls, Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof, and Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors. Throughout that time, Trevor was also involved in shows with Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) and The Theatre in the Park (TTIP). In Spring of 2018, he collaborated with EPIC Events at Starlight Theatre to perform for the HNC Living Foundation benefit. Trevor recently finished three years as a student at KCKCC with an Associate's Degree of Liberal Arts and General Studies. While not being a student, he is honored and excited to return as The Baker in Into the Woods.
Venus Irias (Cinderella)
Venus is very excited to be a part of this production. This is her sophomore year at KCKCC, and she’s been involved with many productions in the past. Previous credits include Doubt: A Parable, Heathers the Musial, The Election, The Addams Family Musical, and The Crucible. She hopes everyone enjoys the show.
Zachery Garner (Steward/Giant/Red’s Granny)
Zachery is a student here at KCKCC, majoring in Theatre. This will be his third show with the school. In high school Zachery was in three shows and was Theatre Club President. He is an actor, but he is also a puppeteer. he’s worked with the Mesner Puppet Theatre on several occasions since the age of nine. Zachery plans to continue to act, but really wants to make puppets and the art of puppetry relevant again.
Brittany Hill (Rapunzal)
Brittany Hill is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at Calvary University. Past roles include: the title role in Mary Poppins (Calvary University); Stella in Bonnie and Clyde(Leawood Stage Company); Sugar Plum Fairy in Shrek the Musical (Summit Theatre Group) and many more. When she is not on stage she enjoys Special Effects Makeup, teaching and baking.
