Director
Jamie Sowers
Ms. Sowers is thrilled to join the Edgewood IB and ESpotlight family this year as Theatre Director. She has been involved in over 75 theatrical productions, born out of the musical theatre and forging her way into the classical spectrum and beyond. Past directing credits include “Words, Words, Words” in David Ive’s All in the Timing (Chapman University), Proof by David Auburn (Fullerton Little Theatre), and “A Bridge to Something” in BREIFS: A Festival of Short Plays (Theatre Out). Ms. Sowers recently appeared in Write Act Repertory’s Summer Shorts series in North Hollywood and as Diane in The Little Dog Laughed (Golden West College). Other credits include The 39 Steps (STAGEStheatre), Two Gents (Shakespeare Center of LA), Almost Maine (WCT), Rumors (The Attic), and Cabaret (Rose Center Theatre). She earned her BFA in Theatre Performance (Chapman University), her MA in Shakespeare Studies (University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute, UK), and her MEd in General Education (UCR).
Music Director
Alexis Rubell
Ms. Rubell is in her third year as the choir director at Edgewood. She received her Bachelors of Music from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music from Cal State Fullerton. Throughout the years, Ms. Rubell has performed and conducted in Carnegie Hall, toured and performed in Italy and France with college choirs, received various vocal scholarships, performed in operas, sang in the choir for Andrea Bocelli at the Hollywood Bowl, and created choral programs from the ground up. Her passion is anything to do with choir, and she is excited to share her love for singing with students every day. She is incredibly proud of the cast of Footloose and can’t wait to see them shine!

DaMinikah Rodriguez
DaMinikah Rodriguez is THRILLED to be performing in the Footloose production. She wants to give a huge thanks to her past teachers Mr.Billy and Ms.Mishka for introducing and teaching her the arts she is influenced by now. She wants to give a big thanks to her previous and enlightening mentor, Mr.Shields and Mr.Miller for seeing the light in her works and pushing her to strive. Lastly she wants to give a big thanks to Mrs.Sowers for her amazing dedication. DaMinikah is a triple threat and has performed in the Disney Hotel, Covina Theater, EHS, CPSOA, The SAE, and many other places for dance, theater, and musical purposes. She looks forward to furthering her dreams in theater and loves the stage!!

Grace Shokry
Grace Shokry is very happy to be working as a stage manager in the musical Footloose. A freshman at Edgewood high school, this is her first time in any production. Grace is the happy Secretary of her class and a member of ASB, and Interact club. She really enjoys being behind the scenes of a musical production. She thanks her family for always being there for her. Also she is happy to be working with Ms. Sowers the director of this amazing musical.
