About 42nd Street

"Hey, did ya see this? Julian Marsh is doing a show!"

"Get out your tap shoes, Frances!"

Based on the novel by Bradford Ropes and the subsequent movie adaptation filmed in 1933, the Broadway musical, "42nd Street," centers around the efforts of authoritarian director, Julian Marsh, as he attempts to mount a show called "Pretty Lady" at the height of the Great Depression.

When it debuted in 1980, the show was met with critical success and approval, eventually winning the "Best Musical" Tony Award for it's efforts.

We begin our show through the eyes of Peggy Sawyer, an ingenue from Allentown, PA! She starts as a simple chorus girl, but through events both within and beyond her control, she rises to a place of stardom.

With huge, glitzy sets, tap-dancing galore, and toe-tapping music, "42nd Street" is sure to keep you humming long after the show is over. Twin Valley's production strives to keep the true beauty of the original Broadway effort alive, while also adding our own unique take to it.

This year's production marks the 12th Spring Musical mounted by the TV Theater Arts Club Production Staff. Past musicals include "Wizard of Oz," "Beauty & The Beast," "Curtains" and "Good News."

So, get your tickets today, and "Come and Meet Those Dancing Feet" for Twin Valley's production of "42nd Street!"
