Donate to ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network)
All donations will go towards our contribution to our student-chosen charity.
Each year, our TCHS Comic Book & Manga Club students vote for the charity they will work to raise donations and funds for through each year’s comic con event. This year, our club students voted for ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network).
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network is an American 501 nonprofit advocacy organization run by and for individuals on the autism spectrum. ASAN advocates for the inclusion of autistic people in decisions that affect them, including: legislation, depiction in the media, and disability services. ASAN works to make our society more inclusive for autistic people. They work to provide resources to make sure that autistic people are in control of their own lives, have a say in policies that affect them, work to protect disability rights and civil rights, and celebrate and promote autistic community and culture. To find out more about ASAN, please check out their organization's website at https://autisticadvocacy.org.
Last year, we raised donations for Team Seas helping with ocean, river, and beach waste removal, and the year before to The Trevor Project, another great cause that helps support LGBTQ+ youth working towards suicide prevention and assisting with crisis interventions. We hope to continue to grow and help create positive changes in the world each year through our charity event. We are proud of our students for working hard, promoting solutions for a better future, and showing how every little bit helps!
