A raucous, pop-rock-musical about gender expectations and stereotypes..that takes it all off.

In this Americanized musical stage version adapted from the 1997 British film of the same name, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

It's a raucous and touching piece of popular theatre that captures the mood of the 1980s, when a generation of men realized that their jobs-for-life in the steel industry were gone, and they were on the scrap heap.

The Heights Players is Brooklyn's longest-running sustaining theater and is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer, membership organization with federal and state tax exempt status.  We are a registered New York State charity, making all donations tax-deductible.
