Based on Henry James' classic gothic novella, The Turn of the Screw, Benjamin Britten's chilling chamber opera tells the story of two abandoned children, a bewildered housekeeper and a desperate governess secluded at a remote British country estate.   Is the manor haunted by the horrors of the past or is the isolation, solitude and repression of human needs and desires driving them all mad?
