Lucy Kirkwood is an acclaimed playwright and screenwriter. Recent work includes MOSQUITOES which opened at the National Theatre, London, in summer 2017; and THE CHILDREN, which premiered at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in 2016. THE CHILDREN opened on Broadway in December 2017.

Marie Kohler
Co-founder of Milwaukee’s Renaissance Theaterworks, Marie served as co-artistic director for twenty years and there directed HAPPY DAYS, THE KREUZER SONATA, A PHOENIX TOO FREQUENT and HONOUR. She directed DEAR ELIZABETH at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, readings at APT, and co-directed her play BOSWELL at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. As playwright she has written COUNTING DAYS, MIDNIGHT AND MOLL FLANDERS, BOSWELL’S DREAMS, THE DIG (which TAP audience may remember from the 2019 season), BOSWELL and A GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST. Raised in Wisconsin, Marie holds a BA from Harvard and MA from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She studied directing at NYC’s Barrow Group. Named Milwaukee Arts Board “Artist of the Year” and “Friend of the Arts,” she’s served on Wisconsin’s Humanities Council, and currently on UW-Parkside’s Advisory Board.

THE CHILDREN was first performed at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs, Sloane Square, London, on November 17, 2016, and was produced on Broadway by the Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) and the Royal Court Theatre on November 28, 2017.


The Royal Court commissioned THE CHILDREN with a generous grant from the Berwin Lee New Play Commission.
