Arsenic and Old Lace Cast

Emma Henry (Abby)
The character of Abby is a A darling lady in her sixties who poisons elderly men. Abby is the sister of Martha and an aunt to Teddy, Jonathan, and Mortimer. Abby is played by Emma Henry. Emma is a senior this year. During her years here at SCA, she's performed in Twinderella, Once Upon a Crime, The Paper Bag Bandit, Pilgrim's Progress, Cinderella, The Christmas Carol, Singing in the Rain, The Music Man, Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown as well as playing in the band for Uncle Phil's Diner. Emma is excited about this show and hopes you enjoy it too!
Andrea Powers (Martha)
Abby's Sister who is a sweet elderly woman with Victorian charm who poisons elderly men. Martha is played by Andrea Powers. Andrea loves doing drama, acting, and music. Drama has always been a passion of hers. She has been involved in drama at Sunrise since eighth grade. She is currently a Junior and is also in NHS. She was Marcy in Charlie Brown, Alma Hix in the Music Man, and Flo in Uncle Phil’s Diner. Her favorite drink is Sprite. Andrea is so excited for these last two years of high school.
Philip Lindholm (Dr. Einstein)
Dr. Einstein, the shy plastic surgeon in his fifties, has changed Jonathan’s face three times and is one of many various roles Philip Lindholm has played since seventh grade. Now a senior, Philip has assisted or been a character in nearly every play since then. One of his primary passions is music, he used his talent at playing the piano in the production Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. The year following, he was chosen to play Schroeder in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and played as a member of the Jester-award-winning Quartet in The Music Man. Not only does he enjoy music, but he also has an affinity toward graphic design and working on computers. As with everything else, his tastes are not set in stone, so it’s no surprise that he doesn’t have an absolutely “favorite drink”. If you were to ask him at the moment, however, Dr. Pepper or sweet tea definitely make the top of his list.
Josh Kelly (Mortimer Brewster)
Nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster, Mortimer is a dramatic critic who is engaged to Elaine. He is a nice man who cares for his aunts. Mortimer Brewster is played by Josh Kelly who has always loved music and has been involved in school choir, is on the life smarts team, and is involved in speech and debate. Josh has been in drama his whole life, and he is also in NHS. His favorite drink is Coca Cola.
Nathan Lindholm (Lieutenant Roony)
Lieutenant Roony is a commanding Police officer that thinks that every one in his police department only has half a brain. Lieutenant Roony is played by Nathan Lindholm. Nathan enjoys running, yo-yoing, singing, and participating in drama productions.He has gone to Sunrise since Pre-K and since his earliest opportunity to join Drama, jumped at the chance. He has played Time, in “The Mad Tea Party” and Horton, in “Life Lessons From Doctor Seuss”. His favorite drink is chocolate milk.
Jon Kelley (Teddy Brewster)
He is the nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster, Teddy is a man in his forties who thinks that he is Theodore Roosevelt. Teddy is played by Jon Kelly. Jon Kelly has been in drama since the 3rd grade. Jon likes comedy, sports and his favorite drink is strawberry milk. His favorite role was Rod in "Singing in the Rain"
Zachary Kelley (Mr. Witherspoon)
He is the superintendent of Happy Dale Sanitarium. Mr. Witherspoon is played by Zachary Kelley who has been in drama since kindergarten and likes playing the violin. He also likes water.
Rachel Dennet (Elaine Harper)
Rachel Dennett plays the character of Elaine Harper who is a girl in her twenties and Mortimer's fiancee, she is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Harper. Rachel has been going to Sunrise Christian Academy since Kindergarten. She started performing in the Drama Program during her freshman year of high school and has loved it ever since. She has been in Cinderella, A Christmas Carol, Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, Singing in the Rain, The Music Man and now Arsenic and Old Lace. She plans on going on a mission trip once she graduates from Sunrise and proceed to college that following fall. She is a photographer, and she wants to study Photo Journalism. Her favorite drink is Diet Pepsi.
Kaitlyn Lumbert (Student Director)
Kaitlyn Lumbert is one of the student directors for this show. She is a Junior this year. Her interest in drama started when she was in 2nd grade. She's taken part in most of the shows that Sunrise has put on since then. She has enjoyed sharing the role of Student Director with Grace Harmon for Arsenic and Old Lace. Her favorite drink is Sobe Lifewater Yumberry Pomegranate. Kaitlyn also plays basketball and competes in debate, forensics, and Lifesmarts.
Thomas Goebel (Jonathan Brewster)
Another nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster, Jonathan is a psychopath who has had plastic surgery and now look like Boris Karloff. Jonathan Brewster is played by Thomas Goebel who is a Senior at Sunrise Christian Academy. He has been doing plays since elementary school. He also plays many sports for Sunrise. They have been football, basketball, baseball, track, and cross country. He also plays in band and sings in choir for Sunrise. He is a 4-H ambassador for Butler County. His favorite drink is A&W cream soda.
Josh Kampe (Officer O'Hara)
A police officer, O’Hara is a would-be playwright who pesters Mortimer to read his play. He is played by Sophomore Josh Kampe. Josh is involved in many school activities such as: football, orchestra, and baseball. Over the years he has been involved with many drama productions. Josh's first role was in middle school as Jack, from “Jack and the Beanstalk”, in “Trial of Goldilocks”. Also during middle school he was Johnny in the musical “Uncle Phil’s Diner” and Tweedledee for “Mad Hatters Tea Party”. He also participated in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.” Then he was Charlie Cowell his freshman year in the musical “Music Man”. His favorite drink is Root Beer.
Zack Garraway (The Rev.Dr. Harper)
Minister and the father of Elaine. The Reverend Dr. Harper is played by Sophomore Zack Garraway. He has appeared in 8 plays so far, including: Once Upon a Crime, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Uncle Phil's Diner, The Mad Tea Party, Singing' in the Rain, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Music Man, and now, Arsenic and Old Lace. His favorite drink is Pepsi. Doing drama has been the highlight of each and every year of his life since his first play in 6th grade.
Maxwell Jones (Mr. Gibbs)
A man who wishes to rent a room from the Brewster sisters. Mr. Gibbs is played by Max Jones. Max has been in drama since somewhere in third grade. He is a freshman and thinks participating in the drama productions is fun. His favorite drink is Mountain Dew.
Grace Harmon (Student Director)
Grace Harmon is a student director in "Arsenic and The Old Lace." She has been involved in the arts since she could walk. She plays five instruments, loves to sing, and has been in drama productions since middle school. Her favorite show so far is "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," and her favorite drink is Diet Dr. Pepper.
Natalie Raine (Officer Brophy)
Natalie Raine plays as the character of Officer Brophy. Sunrise dramas have been a part of her school activities since she played the part of Cinderella in “Twinderella” in 6th grade, and church VBS skits are always fun for her in the summers. She enjoys singing, playing the piano, guitar, clarinet and ukulele as well as leading praise and worship music in church each week. She feels honor to be selected as an NHS member this year. Early morning practices for drama and drum line are made even better with a good cup of coffee.
Alysha Keck (Officer Klein)
Alysha Keck, a freshman in high school, has been acting since kindergarten. Some of her favorite roles are Chip in Beauty and the Beast, the Mad Hatter in The Mad Tea Party, and Duffy in Annie. In her free time, she likes to sing, cheer, and read. Her favorite drink is apple cider.
Emily Jones (Tech Crew)
Emily Jones has attended Sunrise since she was in Kindergarten. She has been part of the technical program for the drama department since Junior High. She started running the sound program her Freshman year and was nominated for a Jester award in the Sound category. Her Sophomore year, she was also nominated for the Technical Achievement Award. This summer she had the opportunity to work as an apprentice for Music Theater Wichita, where she worked with lighting crew, stage crew, and the sound crew. For the production of Freaky Friday, she was honored to run the sound effects and mix the teen choir before the performances.
Andrew Keck (Tech Crew)
Andrew Keck is a junior and is a part of the tech group, and has been for six years, starting with spot light in 6th grade and moving onto leading electrical design where he is now. He has participated in over twenty plays helping also with elementary plays. His favorite drink is Live Wire Mountain Dew. Andrew's favorite verse is Psalm 108:4. This verse talks about the mercy of God and how far the truth of God goes. Because of this verse, Andrew has a reason to spread joy and the word of God.
Meredith Alcorn (Back Stage Crew)
Meredith Alcorn is in the orchestra at school and the drum line. She enjoys making music and has been in drama productions since she was in second grade. She is in NHS. She plans to go to college after graduation and major in some type of medical field. Her favorite drink is Ginger Ale.
Aubrey Laird (Back Stage Crew)
This is Aubrey's Sophomore year at Sunrise. Her Freshman year she participated in The Music Man and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She doesn't have a favorite drink, and she likes reading.
