Anne Akchin (Orphan)
Anne makes her stage debut in this Miracle Players production. When not acting or singing, Annie enjoys soccer and her weekly class at Goldfish swim school. Annie, age 4, is a homeschooled student finishing her preschool year at St Bede's academic cooperative. Annie loves producing, directing and starring in impromptu dance recitals. On behalf of her sister and herself, Annie wants to thank both Grammies, her Pop Pop and the best cousins in the world: Abby and Abby's sister.
Jonny Akchin (Mr. Bumble, Knife Grinder, Bartender)
Jonny returns to the Miracle Players for his third musical. He previously appeared in Joseph (Spring '17) and Music Man (Autumn '16). Offstage Jonny is a busy father of two Dickensian orphans (Margaret and Anne), two boys, both under the age of two (Peter and Edmund) and a terrible dog (Zuzu). The Akchin family frequently disrupts St. Gabriel's 10:30 Mass. In his spare 40 hours per week he works as an Assistant County Attorney for Baltimore County. Jonny would like to thank his long-suffering wife, Lisa for managing the home front during theater season.
Margaret Akchin (Orphan, Nipper)
Margaret has previously taken the stage in Miracle Players' productions of Annie (Spring '18) and Joseph (Spring '17). Margaret, age 6, is a homeschooled student and is wrapping up her second year at St Bede's academic cooperative. Margaret will never stop singing "Hard Knock Life" when asked to do chores at home. On behalf of her sister and herself, Maggie wants to thank her parents, her Aunt Jenny, her Aunt Lise, her Uncle Steve, her Uncle Matt and her brothers Pete and Ned.
Ann Baden (Sally, Matron, 1st Lady Governor)
This is Ann's nineteenth play with the Miracle Players. Some of the plays she has appeared in include A Christmas Story, Annie, Music Man; The King and I; Murder's in the Heir; Wonderland; Damn Yankees; The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens; Secret Garden; Fiddler on the Roof; Our Town and Man of La Mancha. She is a lector at St. Gabriel's and decided that if she could read in front of a church full of people, she could recite lines in a theater full of people.
Mary Beth Bunting (Music Director)
Mary Beth is a senior biology student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She spends her weekdays in classes and music directing. On weekends, she is training animals at the National Aquarium and travelling the east coast as Mary Black, managing her professional wrestler boyfriend, Nick Anarchy, at wrestling shows. This is the 3rd show she has music directed at St. Gabriel’s, previous ones including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Annie. She loves sharing her love of musical theatre with such a talented, dedicated, and diverse cast. Break all the legs!
Deb Carson (Asst. Choreographer, Widow Carney)
Deb is delighted to be returning for her 3rd appearance with the Miracle Players, having previously been seen in Wonderland! (White Queen/Tweedle Dee) and Damn Yankees (Mrs. Welch). Other favorite roles include Lettie (Somethings Afoot!), Snoopy (YAGMCB!), Lottie (Mack and Mabel), Meg (Crimes of the Heart), Kate (Sylvia), Claire (Rumors), and M’lynn (Steel Magnolias). Fun fact: Deb’s very first role was back in third grade when she played one of Fagin’s gang! Love and thanks to the usual suspects!
Kacy Conley (Producer, Director, Mrs. Bedwin)
Kacy has been with the Miracle Players for 30 years. Highlights have included various roles producing, directing and acting - directing Oliver!, Kismet, Nuncrackers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Murder’s in the Heir, and Rented Christmas. Kacy also performed as Mrs. Julia Gibbs in Our Town, Frumah-Sara in Fiddler on the Roof, Alice in The Secret Garden, Mother in Cheaper by the Dozen, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Sister Helen in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, Mom Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, the Sorceress of the North in Wizard of Oz, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, and Lady Thiang in The King and I. She thanks her husband Dan for all his support. She is especially thankful to the wonderful production team, cast and crew.
Molly Connell (Artful Dodger, Orphan, Fagin's Gang)
Molly is 13 years old and a 7th grader at St. Paul’s Lutheran school. She enjoys Art (knitting, doodling, calligraphy), writing, playing video games, and theater. This is her second show at St. Gabriel’s Miracle Players, previously playing Duffy in Annie. Other roles include Ghost of Christmas Past and Fan in A Christmas Carol at Riverside Stage. Molly would like to give a shout out to her mom & dad, her grandparents, her friends from school, her second family with Mimi, Sergi, & Riley, and both Elon Musk and Lin-Manuel Miranda for making the world a better place.
Mary Connelly (Sally, Matron, 2nd Lady Governor)
Mary is a Baltimore County teacher who enjoys being out of the house, driving without a destination and eating candy. Thanks to mom for letting me out of the house.
Therese DeMarco (Artful Dodger, Orphan, Fagin's Gang)
Therese Claire Evelyn DeMarco is in her 4th show with the Miracle Players. She is excited to take the role of the Artful Dodger and is having fun being a rough and tumble orphan. Miss Therese adores the stage and loves the cast. In her free time, she sings on karaoke and practices gymnastics. She hopes that you enjoy the show and will come back for the next production!
Sophia DuClos (Orphan)
This is Sophia’s very first show and she is very excited and happy to take part in this production. She is in the Pre-K at St. Paul’s School. Sophia loves to sing and dance and she hopes you enjoy the show.
Ben Fregeau (Orphan, Fagin's Gang, Book Boy)
Ben is excited to be back on stage with the St. Gabriel Miracle Players. He is in the 5th grade at Timonium Elementary School. Ben loves to read, play chess, and rock climb. He is also active in Boy Scouts. He performed in A Christmas Story with St. Gabriel’s Miracle Players and The Lion King in his school’s production.
Amelia Gauvey (Orphan)
Amelia was June Crachit in A Christmas Carol, an Orphan in Annie (with Miracle Players), and part of the chorus in Amahl and the Night Visitors. She truly loves singing, being onstage, and playing violin. This is her second play with the Miracle Players.
Janna Gauvey (Ensemble, 1st Man)
Jana was Mrs. Crachit in A Christmas Carol, part of the chorus in Annie (with Miracle Players), and part of the chorus in Amahl and the Night Visitors. After a long hiatus from acting and singing (don't ask how long) she's back at it, mostly in support of the kids.
Kieran Gauvey (Orphan, Fagin's Gang, Charlie Bates)
Kieran has been Peter Crachit in A Christmas Carol and part of the chorus in Amahl and the Night Visitors. His interest in acting is recent and outside of being on stage, you can find him saber fencing. This is his first play with the Miracle Players.
Natalie Haney (Charlotte, Orphan, Fagin's Gang)
Natalie is a 7th grade student at Thomas Johnson Elementary/ Middle and enjoys reading, writing, the theater and singing. This is her third play for St. Gabriel Miracle Players; she was Tessie in the production of Annie and Flick in A Christmas Story. She has performed as Officer O'Malley in Comic Book Artist, Daisy in Alice@Wonderland, Commander Coburn in The Aliens are Coming! and is currently playing The Queen in Haphazardly Ever After with the TJEMS drama club. She has also acted in the Musical Artists Theater productions of A Christmas Carol and Amahl and the Night Visitors at Riverside Stage.
Ann Henry (Ensemble, Maid, 2nd Man)
Ann has appeared in many shows with The Miracle Players and welcomes another opportunity, especially performing with her great-granddaughter, Sophia. Thank you Kacy for your patience with my hectic schedule. Enjoy!
Michael Hulett (Fagin)
Michael has frequented the Miracle Players stage as Harold Hill in The Music Man, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden, Fred/Petruchio in Kiss Me, Kate, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, and King Arthur in Camelot. Baltimore audiences have seen him as Fagin in Oliver! at Silhouette Stages, Honoré in Gigi at Vagabonds, Tateh in Ragtime and Arvide in Guys & Dolls, both at Liberty Showcase Theater. Some of his other favorite roles are Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Carl-Magnus in A Little Night Music, Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie, Prince Dauntless in Once Upon a Mattress, The Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and Og the Leprechaun in Finian’s Rainbow. A playwright and composer, Michael’s prize-winning plays and musicals have been published, performed extensively in the United States and England, and produced off-Broadway in New York City.
Molly Laska (Bet, Governess)
Molly is a cost accountant from Cleveland, OH. She is a graduate of Miami University having earned a BScience and a BA in her 4 years there and moved here last summer to work for Textron Systems. Molly began acting at the age of 8 and teaching performance at 17. Career highlights include: voice over work and long and short form improv as well as over 30 fully produced productions including The Wizard of Oz (Aunt Em) and premiere production of The Latest Show (Producer). She made her Baltimore debut with the Miracle Players as Miss Shields in A Christmas Story. Molly is looking forward to taking on the role of Puck in a Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Bard’s Wagon Players as well as the CPA exam this summer. She has often joked that the hardest part of playing Bet, other than being around 15 years old again, is getting to know a character with so little family support and wants to take a moment to thank her parents, siblings and mentors for everything they have done.
Mayah Lohrmann (Oliver, Orphan)
Mayaha is so excited to be returning to the stage with St. Gabriel’s Miracle Players! She loved playing the role of Helen in the Miracle Players' Fall production of A Christmas Story, as well as performing in the Facets of Love cabaret. Mayah has also played the lead role in the Miracle Players' spring production of Annie, Lucinda in Into the Woods, Jr. at STAR Camp, and other roles at school, church, and local theaters. When she's not on stage she's creating art, discovering nature, reading fiction, baking, caring for her bearded dragon, hanging out with family and friends, or watching TV when her parents let her get away with it. Mayah would like to thank her witty, talented father who has impeccable comic timing for taking her to rehearsals. She sends much love to her beautiful mother, the rest of her family as well as the Vyas family.
Nate Lohrmann (Dr. Gerwig, Chairman)
Nate is ecstatic about making his third stage debut with the St. Gabriel Miracle Players! He is extra thrilled that his third stage debut involves sharing the stage with his wonderful daughter (Mayah)! Nate’s previous stage appearence was in the role of the entire ensemble in the Miracle Players’ fall production of A Christmas Story. Nate has also played the role of Wacky/Fred McCracken/Servant in the Miracle Player’s production of Annie. In his limited free time, Nate enjoys playing drums, salsa dancing and engaging in both vibrant and relaxing activities with his lovely and talented wife and daughter.
Marc Rehr (Brownlow, Ensemble)
Marc has been active in local and regional professional and community theatre in the Baltimore/Washington area for four decades He is having a wonderful time in this show and is sure audiences will be leaving the theatre asking “Please, may I have some more!?”
Kristin Rigsby (Choreographer)
Kristin is happy to be back assisting with choreography here at Saint Gabriel. Past credits include Grease, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Heathers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ superstar, and many more. She has been choreographing for 11 years and has taken classes at the Broadway dance center in New York City. Special thanks to her boyfriend Patrick for all his support.
Finn Smith (Oliver, Fagin's Gang)
Finn is a 7th grader at St. Agnes Catholic School. He is thrilled to be in his 4th production with the Miracle Players including: The King and I, Music Man, and A Christmas Story. He started theatre in the 4th grade and has done 8 shows since then. He has 5 siblings and loves to play, sing, and dance with them. He also loves basketball, Harry Potter, Musicals (Hamilton), and basketball. He is thrilled to be a part of this production.
Falynn Tackett (Charlotte, Orphan, Fagin's Gang)
Falynn is an eleven-year-old, fifth grader at George Cromwell Elementary. She is performing for the first time with Miracle Players. She has performed in her elementary school’s drama club production of Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. She has performed several times with Musical Artists Theatre in their production of A Christmas Carol playing Want, Belinda and Jane Cratchit. When she is not acting, singing and dancing she is playing soccer and lacrosse. Falynn is very grateful for Ms. Kacy and the entire production staff as well as the cast for all the enjoyable times. She would also like to thank her family for supporting her in all that she does, especially her mother who without her there would be no Falynn. Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy the Show
Nicholas Tackett (Bill Sykes)
Nicholas is performing for the first time with Miracle Players. He is the proud father of Falynn and thanks her for allowing him to share the stage. He has performed with Musical Artists Theatre, most recently as the Spirit of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol. He would like to thank Kacy, the production staff and the cast for all their hard work to bring everyone this performance. He would also like to thank his beautiful and patient wife and their kids for their constant support for him to be in musical theatre. But remember, do not mention his name!
Lenny Taube (Mr. Sowerberry)
Lenny has been involved in local community theatre for over 10 years, both on and off stage; however, his first love is performing. Favorite past roles include Garry/Roger in Noises Off (Silhouette Stages), Bob/Dr. David Steinberg in Beau Jest (Heritage Players) and Marcellus Washburn in The Music Man (September Song). You may have seen Lenny in previous Miracle Players shows including Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Man of La Mancha and The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens. Lenny would like to thank Kacy for the opportunity to once again perform with this company, as well as the rest of the Miracle Players crew for keeping things running smoothly.
Heidi Toll (Assistant Director, Mrs. Sowerberry)
Heidi earned a Music degree in her native Ohio, has appeared with Tampa Opera & New Orleans Opera, cantors professionally at three churches, sings professionally with Joyous Voices a capella, and works for the Maryland State Dept of Education. She has directed 14 musicals for St. Gabriel. She played Nancy the last time Miracle Players did Oliver! in 2004. She is VERY proud of her daughter Laura continuing the family tradition as Nancy (older daughter Jennifer has also played Nancy) Recently she has played Mrs. Harcourt in Anything Goes for Silhouette Stages, Anna in The King & I (May 2016), Miss Hannigan in Annie (4 times) , Eulalie McKechnie Shinn in Music Man (3 times!),Stepmother in Into the Woods for RTP & 2nd Star, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret for Summer Garden & Greenbelt, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof. “Well-behaved women rarely make history.
Laura Toll Marchiano (Nancy, Rose Seller)
Laura is pleased to return to the Miracle Players stage. This is an especially meaningful role for her as both her mother and sister have previously played Nancy. She is thrilled to continue the family tradition. Favorite roles include Lucy in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Florinda and Lucinda in Into the Woods, Baroness Elsa in The Sound of Music, Lois Lane/Bianca in Kiss Me Kate, Lily St. Regis in Annie, Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense, Gertie in Oklahoma, Alma Hix in The Music Man. She is an audiologist by day and a wedding videographer on the weekends. Love and thanks to Anthony for putting up with my crazy schedule!
Kate White (Nancy, Rose Seller)
This is Katherine's first production with the St Gabriel Miracle Players. She is thrilled to be sharing the part of Nancy. When not on stage, she teaches 4-8th grade Science. She has done theater in NJ, PA and NC, shows include Murder on the Nile, Sylvia, Annie, Oliver! and Godspell. Thanks to all of the wonderful cast and crew for such a fun ride - It's a Fine, Fine Life!
Jack Wiggins (Eli)
Jack has sailed on the Titanic, flown on a magic carpet with Jasmine, held a technicolor dream coat, and walked the streets of London with Sherlock Holmes. Being part of Oliver has been a fun experience to add to his travels around the world that theater allows him to do. He loves being on stage along with playing baseball, swimming, building with Legos, watching Dr. Who, and being an awesome big brother.
Kristy Wiggins (Ensemble, Governor)
Kristy is happy to be part of another Miracle Players show. She began performing with the cast in the production of Murder’s in the Heir back in 2008. While she loves being on stage and getting a chance to dance and act, her favorite role has been of Mommy to Jack, Molly and Joshua. She performs Monday through Friday for an audience of eleven-year-olds as a fifth-grade teacher at Woodbridge Elementary.
Molly Wiggins (Orphan)
Molly is thrilled to be back on stage with the Miracle Players. She loves singing all the songs and has practiced them loud and clear everywhere she goes. Molly has been seen in Annie, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, The King and I, and Fiddler on the Roof. She made her debut with the Woodbridge Elementary Drama Club this year as the baby frog in "Goldilicks and the Three Bullfrogs".
