About The Last Night of Ballyhoo

You are cordially invited to see Edmond Santa Fe High School’s production of The Last Night of Ballyhoo! Our story follows a Jewish family living in Georgia in the late 1930s. Throughout the play, they struggle with their long-held southern beliefs and values in contrast to the traditional Jewish culture. They learn to find pride in their Jewish identity as they begin to see the faults in their racially divided community. The message of The Last Night of Ballyhoo can be seen in Verna Myers quote, “Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.”
