About Almost, Maine

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Thespian Troupe 417 is proud to bring this wonderful show to the people of Postville and the surrounding areas.  This show is a troupe favorite and we are excited to finally have the chance to perform it on our stage.  This production promises to be unlike anything seen on our stage in quite some time, so please make plans to attend and purchase your tickets now!

About Thespian Troupe 417

Postville Community School District re-chartered Thespian Troupe 417 in the fall of 2017, under the direction of Derek Friederich.  The mission of the International Thespian Society is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts.  As such, any student participating in theatre, be it on stage or off, is eligible to be inducted into the troupe after completing 100 hours of excellent work.  Once students are inducted, they continue to earn honors, rank and academic recognition through continued participation in theatre.  Students also have opportunities to attend and/or perform at Leadership Day, State Thespian Festival and International Thespian Festival.  Troupe 417 currently has 15 inducted members and 5 thespian apprentices.  We hope to increase our numbers to over 30 at the end of the 2019 school year.
