Art Director
Ms. Alexa Speeris in her third year teaching English at WEMS. Ms. Speer is thrilled to continue assisting with the theater program, having been a part of Grease and Rosie the Riveter. She would like to thank the dedicated, talented team of staff and students who make Masquers possible.
Costume Manager
Amanda Barra '20is very excited to be working on this year's production of Mamma Mia! She has been working for the Masquers program for three years now and enjoys every minute of it. Amanda loves to work with her crew to help alter and make the costumes. She’s so excited to see her friends on stage and watch their amazing performances. She and her crew have been working very hard and are really excited for everyone to see the show!
Pit Conductor
Mr. Anthony Fabriziois the Director of Bands at WEHS. He conducts and directs the Symphonic Winds, Concert Band, the Jazz Knights the Marching Knights, and teaches Music Technology. This is Mr. Fabrizio’s fifth year conducting the spring musical production. Mr. Fabrizio has appeared professionally with several groups including the Atlantic City Ballet, the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, the Garden State Philharmonic, Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, North Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and was selected to perform multiple times with the New Jersey Intercollegiate Wind Ensemble. Mr. Fabrizio holds a Master of Music Degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Ohio where he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in Classical Piano from William Paterson University.
Backstage Manager
Armand Liloia '20is a senior and has been part of the Masquers tech crew since sophomore year. Armand has worked on Seussical, Clue, Grease, Rosie the Riveter, and now finally Mamma Mia. Armand would like to say “thanks!” to the rest of Masquers for helping make tech such a great experience and wish luck to all the seniors for the future!
Director
Ms. Brittany Milleris in her third year directing the Masquers of West Essex theatre program. Directing credits include You Can’t Beat the House, Clue, Rosie the Riveter, Seussical, and Grease. Ms. Miller graduated from Caldwell University with a B.A. in English and Secondary Education, and is in her third year as a Special Education and English teacher at WEHS. Ms. Miller minored in theatre performance in college, and her love for theatre has grown every year with the Masquers program. Ms. Miller would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her students and coming to each of their performances. She would especially like to thank her fiancé Armando for being her biggest fan.
Lighting Manager
Dominic Lombardi '20is a senior and joined the Masquers tech crew in his freshman year. Dom has worked on six prior productions with Mamma Mia! being his seventh production. He is very excited to finish off his senior year working with the crew and hopes that everyone has a great show and best of luck in future years!
Vocal Director
Mrs. Donna Mateykahas been a member of the West Essex Music Department for 22 years. She is looking forward to seeing "Mamma Mia," her 21st musical here, come alive on the W.E. stage! She would like to give a special "congratulations" to the senior cast members who have been her Choir students since 7th grade! She would like to thank God for her talents and her family for their love and support throughout the years! Break a leg everyone!!
Assistant Stage Manager
Emily Blake '21is a Junior and joined the Masquers program her freshman year. She has been a part of many amazing shows here at West Essex. She is thankful for all the friends and memories she has made through being a part of this program. Emily would like to thank all the Seniors who made every year just as special and her family for being so supportive. Good luck to the cast and crew!
Assistant Props Manager
Gabby Phillips '21is a Junior at West Essex and and could not be more excited to be with all the cast and crew for the production of Mamma Mia. She is thrilled to be working on her third musical and can't wait to see how it turns out. She wishes everying the best of luck!
Audio Manager
John Cunningham '20is a Senior and Mamma Mia is his sixth production with the Masquers of West Essex. Jack has aspirations to be an Acoustical Engineer and is very involved in West Essex's music department and independent music productions. Jack would like to thank Masquers for a great show and wish the cast and other crews the best of luck!
Art Manager
Julia Kurdusiewicz '20is a Senior and joined stage crew in her sophomore year. She is grateful for the amazing time she had in the past few years and can’t wait to work on her last show. She would like to thank her family for the support and wishes everyone the best of luck!
Set Construction/Stage Crew Advisor
Mr. Lee ObergIn the fall of 1980 Mr Oberg arrived at West Essex as the 9th grade woodworking instructor. In the 40 years since, this has become his professional “home.” Throughout the years, Mr. Oberg has remained grateful to his wife and best friend Susan for her unwavering encouragement and support. The spring of 2020 will conclude Mr. Oberg’s tenure as the stage crew advisor as well as his teaching career here at WE. It has been a blessing to have worked over the last 32 years with so many dedicated & talented people. Cruise ships, pirate ships, enchanted castles and man-eating plants all add to the fond memories of this wonderful experience. It is my sincere hope that this, my last show (for real this time) here at West Essex, is a memorable experience for all who attend. God bless and enjoy the show.
Stage Manager
Mary Arata '20is a Senior & has been a part of Masquers since 8th grade. This is her last show but is thankful to have worked beside such amazing people. She would like to thank her family for their constant support, especially her dad (carpe diem). Mary would also like to thank Mr Oberg not only for being a legend, but leading her over the years on crew. It’s been real, good luck to all!
Tech Director
Mr. Patrick McGlynnPatrick is a first year technical director, but is no stranger to the West Essex Masquers. He was involved in earlier Masquers productions such as, Judge Hathorne in The Crucible and an Enchanted Pie Server, in Beauty and the Beast. Patrick is looking forward to working behind the scenes on his first musical with the Tech Crew this year
Hair/Makeup Manager
Rebecca Klein '20is a senior who has been involved in Masquers since her freshman year of high school. She has worked both on stage and behind the scenes, but her favorite part of Masquers is being a part of painting crew and makeup crew. This is her third and final show as makeup manager, and she is so excited to express her creativity through her work for "Mamma Mia." She has made so many great memories with the amazing cast and crew, and is excited for her last show!
Props Manager
Samantha Zisa '20is a Senior at West Essex and has been a part of stage crew since her freshman year. She is excited to work on her final show and is amazed with all the hard work everyone has put into this show. She wants to wish everyone good luck on this show!
Business Manager
Ms. Sarah Schiffelbeinis in her third year as Business Manager and her fourth year of teaching History and Special Education at West Essex Regional School District. Ms. Schiffelbein holds a B.A. in Social Studies and Secondary Education from Caldwell University, along with an M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction and an M.A. in Special Education. As Business Manager, Ms. Schiffelbein has worked on You Can't Beat the House, Clue, Seussical, Grease, and Rosie the Riveter. She would like to thank all those involved with the Masquers program, the Board of Education, Administration, family and friends of the students, and most importantly Ms. Miller and the cast & crew of Mamma Mia.
Choreographer
Mrs. Shaun Salmongraduated from West Essex in 2004 as a member and captain of the Varsity Dance Team and a member of Masquers, appearing in seven productions as both a dancer and actress. Most notably, she appeared as Kate in Absolutely Murder and as Gloria in Mame. She choreographed Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Sweeney Todd, Guys & Dolls, Legally Blonde, The Addams Family, The Little Mermaid, Suessical, and Grease for Masquers and is the Varsity and MS Dance Team Coach. She holds a BA in American Studies from the University of Maryland College Park, where she continued in both dance and theater, and a JD from Seton Hall Law (admitted in NY and NJ). She wants to thank the entire creative team and incredibly talented West Essex students for such a fun show!
