About Mark of Zorro 1920 silent film

Landmark Community Theatre presents the silent film , "The Mark of Zorro" with organ accompaniment by Juan Cardona Jr. on the Marr-Colton theatre pipe organ housed at the Thomaston Opera House.  


For more than 20 years, Juan Cardona Jr. has been the house theatre organist a the Thomaston Opera House in Thomaston, CT and at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is often a feature attraction at these and other venues around the country performing live accompaniment for classic silent films.  His recent performances at the Thomaston Opera House include; Mel Brooks "Silent Movie" and the 1926 Phantom of the Opera.

The Mark of Zorro is a 1920 silent adventure romance film starring Douglas Fairbanks and Noah Berry Sr. This genre-defining swashbuckler adventure was the first movie version of The Mark of Zorro. Based on the 1919 story The Curse of Capistrano by Johston McCulley,  which introduced the masked hero, Zorro, the screenplay was adapted by Fairbanks (as "Elton Thomas") and Eugene Miller.
