The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Cast

Evan Becklenberg (Panch (Boa.))
Evan is thrilled to be making his final mainstage appearance as Vice Principal Panch in Spelling Bee! Past credits include Phil (Almost Maine) and Horacio (Something Rotten!). Being a part of this production has been such an incredible blessing and he has loved every second he has gotten to spend on stage. Love to his family and friends as well as a special thanks to the creative team, administrators and the Arts Magnet Program for being champions for the show and finding ways to allow students to pursue their passions despite the circumstances.
Hannah Canterbury (Olive (Lugu.))
Hannah is thrilled to be performing as Olive in her 11th performance with Thespian Troupe 657. Some of her favorite past roles include Glory in Almost Maine, Kathy Seldon in Singin in the Rain jr., and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof jr. She would like to say a huge “thank you” to her family and the AMP teachers at Greeley Central High School for always pushing her to reach her goals and for their never ending encouragement!
Maya Cooney (Olive (Boa.))
Maya is so excited to be playing Olive Ostrovsky in her first musical at Greeley Central! Being a part of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has been the highlight of her year and she is incredibly grateful that she got to be a part of such a fantastic performance! She would like to thank the cast, crew, and directors for welcoming her into the GCHS thespian community and always putting a smile on her face. In addition, she is thankful to her family and friends for their never ending support of all her artistic endeavors.
Ethan Chamberlain (Panch (Lugu.))
Ethan Chamberlain is extremely excited to be cast as Vice Principal Panch. Some of his past roles include Dan in Almost Maine and the Announcer for White Christmas. Being in this production has been an experience to learn from. Ethan feels that every minute he spends on stage is a moment to be proud of and to learn from other cast members and teachers. After each show, he always has something new to bring to the table, but being in a mask has been a new one for him. Ethan appreciates everyone's efforts to make this happen.
Neomi Cruz (Leaf's Sibling)
Neomi Cruz has been excited to finally be able to perform in front of a live audience. She loves everyone she's been able to work with during the making of the show. Throughout this experience she's come to appreciate the ability to be around such amazing people.
Maleea Hurtado Hamby (Marcy (Boa.))
Maleea Hurtado Hamby is thrilled to be part of this wonderful production! Outside of school, she is currently portraying the roles of Maurice (Beauty and The Beast) and Miss Hannigan (Annie). She would like to give a special thanks to her Mother, Grandmother, and her numerous instructors for always pushing her to follow her passion.
Asher Hein (Barfee(Boa.)/Olives dad(Lugu.))
Returning for his third year and fifth performance at Greeley Central, Asher hopes for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to be his best yet. His past credits include Steve (She Kills Monsters), Francis Nurse (The Crucible), and Jim (Almost, Maine). In addition to acting, he enjoys building and painting models, going for walks, and stargazing. He would like to thank the rest of the cast and crew for their work to make the show incredible!
Savanna Long (Mitch)
Savana Long loves playing a fun characters (Ms. Hannigan, Tillius the Paladin, Abigail Williams), and Mitch Mahoney certainly is that. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is the first show she’s been in full rehearsals for since the pandemic began, and it’s really restored a lot of energy for her. She hopes that you get a kick out of the show, and don’t find her too scary. Savana would like to thank the people she loves for their unending support, and the cast, crew, orchestra, and directors for making this happen even in stressful times like these—but, most of all, she wants to thank YOU for reading this! Eliana Mascarenas (Rona)
Eliana is so excited to play Rona in her senior musical at GCHS! The opportunity of performing live in front of an audience is an experience she is so incredibly thankful for. She would like to give a special shoutout to her mom, dad, siblings, and friends for being so supportive over these 4 years. Most importantly, she would like to give a HUGE thank you to the directors and admin who were able to make this show a reality! Hope you enjoy the spelling bee!
Cecily Mash (Schwarzy (Lugu.))
Cecily Mash (Logainne “Schwarzy” Swartsandgrubenierre) is ecstatic to be making her main stage debut with Thespian Troupe 657! Favorite thespian endeavors include Seussical Jr. (Horton the elephant) with Fred Tjardes School of Innovation, Frozen Jr. (Ensemble) with the Stampede Troupe, Into the Woods Jr. (Cinderella) with Fred Tjardes, The Ghost of the Chief Theater (Mick) with the Stampede Troupe, and Matilda (Ensemble) with Greeley West High School. She also recently contributed to a Mom’s Popcorn commercial for 1310 KFKA radio. She is currently enrolled in the Arts Magnet program at Greeley Central with a theater and 3D arts emphasis and hopes to continue doing theatre for many many years to come!
Molly Mayo (Danielle Mom)
Molly is so excited to continue her passion of performing for her junior year show! She has always loved performing and has played roles that range from leading women (in her living room and her shower) to playing in some of her new favorite shows like 25th Annual! Molly would like to thank her mom, her grandpa, and all of her best friends that have stayed up countless nights listening to me geek out about all things theatre. Enjoy the show!!
Tommy Medina III (Leaf's Dad)
Tommy Medina is glad to be part of this wonderful production. This will be his 3rd production here at Greeley Central some include “Something Rotten” which sadly didn't get to air due to Covid 19. “10 ways to survive life during a quarantine” Which was online and a lot of fun. Now this musical. He has been working hard and focusing on this production and is glad to be back on stage and showing the world. What he can do.
Lucas Moir (Leaf ConeyBear)
Lucas is so excited to be on the stage for his final mainstage production at Greeley Central! Being able to perform live again has been such a blessing and he cannot wait for everyone to see the show. Much love to his family, cast, and troupe. Armando Flores Montenegro (Barfee(Lugu)/Olives Dad(Boa.))
Armando Flores Montenegro is absolutely delighted to be performing as Barfeé and Olive’s dad for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His past roles include cooks/renaissance writers in Something Rotten!, Dave in Almost, Maine, and Jormungandr in The Norse Mythology Ragnasplosion. He would like to thank all of the Arts Magnet staff for creating the path to live performance again despite the obvious ease of having no show at all during the pandemic. He would also like to thank everyone who has supported him in his endeavors and pushed him to be the best he can be!
Kennedy Quiroz (Leaf's Mom)
Kennedy Quiroz is extremely excited to be a part of this production and cast for her first musical at central. That cast and directors are amazing to work with and she has truly found a second family with these people. She is truly grateful for this opportunity.
Markus Rodriguez (Chip/Jesus)
“Most Likely to Become a Comedian” winner Markus Rodriguez has never once been excited. That being said, he is slightly excited for this production. He is a man of class, dignity, and a lot of bad humor, and he is hoping to bring that to you during The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has been a part of three productions including this one, one of which never made it to stage, as Lendall (Almost, Maine) and several other unnamed roles. He would like to thank all of the directors, his cast mates, his family, and Village Inn worker “Brandon” for being amazing people and supporting him throughout this process!
Cara Schuttler (Marcy (Lugu.))
Cara is so excited to be a part of Greeley Central’s production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! This is her third year performing in shows at Greeley Central and she is so glad to be back performing! Past credits include Gayle (Almost, Maine) and Mary Warren (The Crucible). Ayden Smith (Schwarzy (Boa.))
Ayden is excited to be playing Logainne. It has been one of her favorite rolls so far. It has given her room to put some comedy and her own quirks into the show! Ayden hopes to go on with a career in theatre and run her own company while also doing professional work! She would like to thank everyone who has helped her come along this far.
Aly Toews (Olive's Mom/Leaf's Sibling)
Aly Toews is thrilled to be back in the theater, this time in person for a live show! Aly was last seen in Almost Maine(Ginette), The Crucible(Betty Parris), and The Addams Family(Wednesday Addams). She is so blessed and thankful for all of her friends, castmates, directors, and family for bringing her into the thespian community once again as it is truly the place to be when life starts to be “pandemonium.” This is surely an opportunity for a lifetime, so Aly hopes you enjoy the show!
Georgi Ward (Carla Mom)
Georgi is so excited to be a part of her first ever Greeley Central mainstage production: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! She’d like to thank her parents, siblings, family, and friends who have all been so supportive and of course the wonderful cast, crew, and directors who she’s gotten to share this incredible experience with.
