About The Little Mermaid

The Playbox Ensemble at East Union High School announces its production of the charming adaptation of the classic fairy tale The Little Mermaid, which runs April 10 at 7pm as the finale to the East Union Art Show.

The Little Mermaid, a play by Mila Johansen, begins underwater where Marina and her mermaid sisters gather for lessons with Grandmere.  Meanwhile, on land, Prince Caspian and his cohorts are preparing for the prince’s wedding to the beautiful Isabell. But mermaid Marina devises a plan to win Prince Caspian’s heart and gives up her most prized gift– her voice.

On land, Prince Caspian finds his true love… but is she Isabell, or Marina?  Who will win the prince’s heart?  Will it be Isabell?  If it is, Marina will turn into sea foam!  With so many dangers ahead for the little mermaid, there is much to lose...and true love to gain.

The Art Show begins at 5pm and features art, and performances from band, choir and theatre.  While the Art Show is free, seating for The Little Mermaid is not.  Reserve your seat for the 7pm showing of The Little Mermaid with your donation of $8.00.  Check in at the box office for your hand stamp to get your seat.
