Two New Ways to Support the Dragonfly Community!
Scholarship & Building Fund:
Scholarships: Throughout this past year, Dragonfly has not only managed to stay open but is growing! When businesses temporarily shut down, we went virtual to keep our students moving and connected. When studios were cutting back programming, we were doubling classes to get our already low class sizes down so we could stay open and under mandated capacity. While other studios were canceling their seasonal shows because they could not find an open theatre, we purchased lighting and curtains and transformed our studio into our own theatre and produced in-house virtual productions. ...and when competition teams were throwing in the towel, we went virtual with workshops and scholarship auditions still completing three competitions where we swept first and seconds and best overalls!
Our spirits are meant to fly and Dragonfly won't be kept grounded. In a world with so much uncertainty and frustration particularly now, we strive to give our flying family a stable place that they can count on for community and release. A place where we can leave our worries at the door and climb it out.
We have always believed that as long as our mission is to build people up, we are serving a much needed purpose and Dragonfly will sustain. By the grace of God that has been our reality. We have made our goal to provide a stable and all inclusive space for students, of all ages, to be in community together while growing as artists and as athletes. This past year has been challenging for so many of our community and we have been blessed to continue to provide a space for students, even when it may have been prohibitive for them, or their families, financially or logistically to continue. We have been able to do that because our student base has continued to support us and in return we've been able to give back.
Dragonfly is not currently a 501c3 non-profit organization, (although we are exploring this designation). We are a family owned business and a one income household. Our family absorbs nearly $1,000 a month in tuitions for passionate students who would otherwise not be able to attend classes, participate in shows, or compete for scholarships due to financial circumstances. God has made it possible for that provision to grow as our student base has grown. This has, at times, been challenging for our family to sustain. However, when we say that you are all a part of a "flying family", we mean it! At this time we realize as we continue to grow as a business, the need has surpassed what we as a family can do on our own and if we want to continue to cultivate more opportunities for our growing flying community we need to provide this opportunity for others who may want to gift fellow students in need as well!
Therefore, in order to provide more opportunities for disadvantaged students, we have created the DAC Scholarship fund. If you would like to contribute, you may donate below! This donation is not a write off unfortunately, but it is so very much appreciated by our fellow flyers. A $95 a month sponsorship would provide enrollment for a student who may otherwise not be able to continue their training! $250 Would send a student to camp)

The Covid culture has left a permanent impact on Dragonfly in many ways. Focusing on the positive, we have outgrown the square footage of our lovely space. We have been working for months on creating a solution and we are pursuing the purchase of our own building behind Home Depot at Powers & Woodmen. This space is 3,000 sf with 28' ceilings. Our new space will double as not only a studio to learn but a proper space for theatrical performances hosting in-person audiences.
We could certainly use some help with the transition. If you would like to donate or become an ongoing sponsor supporting this venture, your funds will go to: additional mats ($600 each), additional flexi-roll flooring ($700 per roll-we need 5), additional ropes and hardware (Approx. $1,000) and most excitedly, a proper "human load" winching system (approx. $7,000) and safety fly lines (approx. $1,000). Our programs will definitely be expanding as we have plans to host competitions, workshops, guest artists and aerial festivals/events.
Sadly, at this time, the donation is not a write off unfortunately (we are still exploring a 501c3), however, donors and sponsors will be listed on a wall presentation in the new space! Donors may donate below.
If you are interested in an ongoing sponsorship providing exposure for your company or organization, please contact Mistia Fallon at 719-749-1459.
