She Kills Monsters Cast & Crew

Andrew Lennox (Chuck)
I love how much I can relate to how nerdy my character is I love doing the boss fight intros in a booming voice My favorite message is to appreciate what you have when you have it Keep fighting through covid by having a smile, and it’ll all turn out in the end
Anna Ek (Lilith/Lily)
Teagan Foley (Vera)
Rainy Strain (Tillie)
Rainy Strain, Senior Tilly Evans Creating in a time when everyone told you it was near impossible to create in person art was the best way to kind of slap COVID-19 in the face. It was an incredible experience and opportunity as well. I’m indefinitely grateful. Favorite line: “No, we play it because it’s awesome! It’s about going on adventures, having magic, and saving the world. And- I guess- in some small, teeny capacity it might have a little something to do with wish fulfillment. Kelly doesn’t have to use her wheelchair, Ronnie gets to be super strong...” This show has taught me that being yourself and staying true to your values is way more important than anything else. Some people and things in your life will come and go, but at the end of the day you have you. Especially when you are being 100% yourself and not giving a care as to what anyone else thinks of you.
Karlie Reynolds (Kaliope/Kelly)
What do I love abt my character: that she’s described as sexy like 100 times in the show it makes me feel confident:) Favorite line of mine: were unfortunately lacking in emotional awareness Message/life lesson the show gave me: cherish ur loved ones. Words to future students: filming in front of a green screen sucks. But it’s a great experience and surely one I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Dominic Anderson (MIles)
I love that my character is deeper than the typical high school jock and he has different sides when the play progresses “You can’t hurt me, I play football.” The life lesion of this play would be not to judge too quickly because something deeper could be going on that you don’t know. To the future students, I would say that it really is way more challenging than a typical play but it’s still very rewarding.
Annika Anderson (Agnes)
love how determined my character is to learn more about her sister and somehow create a relationship with her through a game Agnes knows nothing about. “It was just...this game was all I had of her.” This show has taught me that you really never know the whole story of a person. There is always more you can learn about them and there’s no sense in judging them for any of it because we are all so extremely different. Creating a high school play during COVID-19 has been quite the experience. Although it is so different than anything we’ve done in the past, it was still a blast to be apart of. This show is so important because it is keeping theater and the arts alive while we are living through a pandemic. Doing this show has really taught me that we don’t give up on theater no matter what and the show really must go on.
Alex Ngo (Orcus/Ronnie)
I mean, Orcus represents a traditional bad guy and the generic demon being warped into a very palatable and humanized form. He represents a common contemporary trope wherein villains receive humanizing and relatable qualities that set them apart from the traditional villain. For Orcus, he is that but to an excess, which allows him to be set apart from the traditional tropes and really be an opportunity for actor and viewer to dig in and explore the role of a villain, and how it can be twisted to other forms. “Gross.” Life is not something to scoff at. Make sure you leave behind a legacy that you are proud of, and make sure the people around you love and care about you and make sure you love and care for them in equal measure. Life is fickle, but you don’t have to be. Don’t, it sucks i hated it immensely 0/10, can be described as the very essence of the vomiting emoj
Annabel Fulton (Farah the Faerie)
What do I love about my character? - I like that she is small and cute, but still super tough. And because she is cute and little people underestimate her, but she can still kick some serious butt. What is your favorite line? - “Nice? Yo, do I sound Canadian to you? Ain’t nobody gonna be nice all the time.” The message the show gave me is, you should try to appreciate and learn about people in your life, because there’s a chance they won’t be there forever. Words to future students about "Creating a high school play during covid 19": Don’t be afraid to evolve and try something new. If it something that makes you and others happy, find new ways to do it.
Samantha Pizinger (Evil Gabbi)
She is a mean girl with humor “ We are all fellow cheerleaders right? I mean we’re freshman and your on the varsity squad, but we are all fellow Bobcats, right?” The importance of respecting people before they die Putting on a play during COVID 19 is possible with everyone’s hard work we put on play that everyone can enjoy.
Sarah Brost (Evil Tina)
I really like how confident my character is, she just needs a better way of showing it. « I’m in the mood for.......geek » This show taught me to be as close to my family as I can, because I’m lucky enough to have my amazing family with me. This experience really helped teach me that anything is possible. We were able to put together an amazing show, even during a pandemic.
Katherine Fritz (Evil Grace)
I love Evil Grace’s confidence. Favorite Line - “Totally sisters!” Fighting your own monsters is just as important as fighting other’s. I would say to be be patient and trust the process- have the most amount of fun you can!!
Calla Massari (Narrator)
What I love about my character is how their personality is a perfect combination of serious and goofy, almost like they’re trying to keep a straight face but it’s just not possible for them. My favorite line is “And they did indeed kicketh some asseth.” The show has taught me that life is short, and that unexpected things can happen, so we need to make the most of the time we have. We have to get to know the people we love and make sure they know we care about them. To a future student, I’d say that being in this show during Covid-19 has proven to me how resilient CDH is. Even in the midst of a pandemic, we’ve been able to create an amazing production. It has shown me that if we stick together, we can create amazing things.
Mary Musolf (Narrator)
• I love the way this character speaks. • “Soon she would embark on another and then another and so on and so fourth for the rest of her life” • This show showed me that even in hard times like COVID we can still do what we love and have fun. • Ask questions while on zoom because you may not have time to ask them while filming. Also just have fun (in a safe way) even though COVID sucks.
Charlie Strain (Steve)
Liam Clift (Props Head)
Seamus Dougherty (Audio Visual Crew Head)
I deeply enjoyed finding images and pieces of my childhood to help make the show more authentic. Perseverance coupled with variety equals interesting Do what you would enjoy, not what you feel you should
Tatum Evans (ASM/Lighting and Sound Ast.)
I am incredibly proud and impressed with the cast and crew for putting together a show right now. The fact that people are dedicated enough to try something completely new just to keep doing what they love is amazing. I think the most important part of this show is learning to love everything about the people around you; especially those you are close to. If you truly want to love them, you need to take the time and appreciate every part of them, even the parts that are different from you. If I explained the making of a show during a pandemic to a future student, I would say that it is somehow both completely different and exactly the same. Even though we weren't together in person, the heart of the theater could be seen in every student and their passion for creating. Kids came in over their Christmas break because they wanted to work on the show. People sat through endless zoom rehearsals because they loved what was
B. Kelly (Video Backgrounds/ Lighting Ast.)
I'm proud of working on backgrounds, with the mics, and gathering and learning about Dungeons and Dragons. stay true to yourself. A lot of things are different and confusing, but all you can do about it is do your best and it will work out.
Maddie Schearer (Publicity Crew Head)
I’m most proud of the commercia I produced. This show taught me how to make the best of a hard situation. To future students, don’t worry about what you’re missing out on, just enjoy what you’re still doing!
Addison Keske (Makeup/Hair Crew Head)
I’ve been very impressed with the level of dedication each actor has to getting their makeup just right. They always come to me with questions and ask for my advice which is great!! I’m so glad I got to work with such a dedicated cast and crew:)
Madigan Rios (Sound Crew Head)
I am most proud of finding the opening track for the play called “Dungeons and Dragons”. My favorite line in the play is when Tilly asks “Did you have fun?” to Agnes. I learned to have fun by being myself, like Tilly did. My words to future students about "Creating a high school play during covid 19" is that they should definitely join crew even if you’ve never done it before, people will help you.
Molly Stanley (Costumes)
There’s not really a specific costume that I was proud of creating, but I loved creating two costumes for one character and getting to decide the style of the character in real life, and also in the game. Never take anything you have for granted. Second question When creating a show during a pandemic, I have to remind myself to take everything day by day. The future isn’t always going to be known, so appreciate the now. Focus on the moment and live in the present.
Alice Spong (Assistant Director)
I am proud of everyone’s ability to adapt to what has come our way and make theater happen! The main thing I learned is to always try to be someone’s hero. You may not know that you are causing a change in someone’s life, but by being kind and respectful to others, you can create a huge impact on their life. Creating a play during Covid teaches you a lot about adapting and changing, and being okay with those changes. We had to try different methods of learning and performing this show, some worked, some didn’t. While creating a play during this time brought up many differences compared to years past, our theater community was still there to support us in any way possible.
Katie Kreitzer (Director)
I am just proud of the cast and crew. They have something uniquely theirs during a pandemic. Favorite line: Did you have fun? That's the most important thing. Life Lessons: Just because someone is gone doesn't mean that you can't get to know them. We are all part of each other. Words to future: You should teach at Cretin-Derham Hall because the students are Brilliant.
