Deb Swerman
has a B.A. in theatre from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and an M.F.A. in theatre/directing from the University of New Orleans. Deb is director of acting at Bethel University and has had the pleasure of directing Bethel's productions of "The Drowsy Chaperone," "Sense and Sensibility," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "The Miracle Worker," "Oklahoma," "Anne of Green Gables," "Mary Poppins," and "A Christmas Carol," as well as others. Deb also directs for the South Bend Civic Theatre and has worked with several theatre camps in the area. In addition, she is director of Bethel's Summer Academic Camps.

Emily Dougherty
Emily is a junior elementary education major with a minor in theatre arts from Franklin, Ind. Emily can usually be found working backstage and has done so in many capacities,; she was the assistant stage manager for the shows “Church Basement Ladies,” and “Three Sisters.” Last fall she made her debut on the Bethel stage as Anne Steel in “Sense and Sensibility.” Emily is also student teaching this semester.

Claire Prins
Claire is a sophomore theatre arts major from Grand Rapids, Mich. She started her theatre involvement in high school where she worked on costumes for upwards of 11 shows. Claire has been heavily involved in our costume department at Bethel; she works in the costume shop and has been on costume crew as well. Most recently, Claire directed a show in our 24-hour theatre project. She is also the Vice President of The Company.
