The Hobbit Contributors

Thadeus Stary 
Thadeus Stary is a senior at Benedictine and has been active in Drama Club since freshman year. He has performed in The Odd Couple as Murray, M*A*S*H as Walt, acted as the stage manager of The Fantasticks, and as the student director of The Hobbit (freshman through senior year respectively). He is extremely proud of this year’s cast and is excited to see them perform their best. In his free time, he enjoys reading and listening to music. After graduation, Thadeus plans on enlisting in the United States Navy in hopes of becoming a Mass Media Communications Specialist.
Stephen Zachlin (Bilbo Baggins)
is a senior here at Benedictine who is a three-year member of the drama club. Stephen starred as Felix in The Odd Couple and played Radar in M*A*S*H in his first two years. This year, he is making a return to the stage, cast as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. Stephen also plays golf and baseball for the school and is on the academic challenge team as well as the jazz band. He hopes you enjoy the show!

My name is Will Young I am a Senior at Benedictine. I am involved in JSA, Engineering and Marching Band where I play Saxophone. This year I had the honor of being Band Captain.
Marcus Matthis (Thorin Oakenshield)
Hi my name is Marcus Mathis, I am a senior. I am playing Thorin in this year’s production of ‘The Hobbit’. I've played as Burns in M*A*S*H. I also participate in the school marching band and jazz band where I play saxophone and drums respectively.

Nick Pietrzycki (Fili)
My name is Nicholas Pietrzycki. I am a Senior at Benedictine High School. I'm currently on our varsity Golf and Track team. I'm involved in a variety of clubs including our Drama club. This year I started the Benedictine Broadcast Network, where we will live stream a variety of sporting events and other activities. I was a member of our football team for three years before injuries ended my career. After high school, I plan to attend college for Journalism and Mass Communications. Hello, my name isAnthony Vitale and I am a freshman at Benedictine high school. This is my first time in a Benedictine drama club production, and I don’t plan on it being my last. I have met lots of new friends and hope to meet more in future years of drama club.I play Balin and Dwalin.
Ian LaForest (Golum, Elf Guard and Tom)
My name is Ian LaForest, class of 2020. I have been playing mallet percussion (bells) since the fourth grade. I also play the piano for the jazz band.

My name is Kyle D. Mallett. I am a Junior at Benedictine High School. I’m apart of two clubs. Academic challenge and drama club. In band I play the clarinet.
John DiNovo (Dori and the Elf King)
I’m John DiNovo and a Junior at Benedictine High School. I’m on the track and bowling team. I enjoy playing Call of Duty with the bros in my free time.
Max Young (Gloin)
My name is Max. I am a Sophomore, and this is my first time participating in a Benedictine play. I enjoy spending my free time playing baseball at Benedictine and 2k.
Nyomi Morris (Essie)
is ecstatic to join the Bengals in this production of the Hobbit. This is her first experience working on a theater set crew and acting on a stage. She hopes that you find her performance of Essie the troll entertaining. When she’s not working on the play, you might find her playing the saxophone, learning about space, or eating snacks. She wished not only broken legs to the actors, but also that every one of their bones shatter.
Chris Moner (Smaug)
Hello! I’m Chris Moner and I am in the Jazz Band and the Men’s Chorus. I am a guitarist in the Jazz Band and a bass in our Men’s Chorus. I am a senior this year and I am excited for what this year holds.
