John F. Hopkins
JHops (as he's called) is enjoying his twelfth theatrical season as the Berkley Schools District Drama Coordinator. Before Berkley, he ran summer music and theatre programs for Detroit Schools, taught in an SBH classroom at Toledo, Ohio's St. Anthony Villa, helped found the now hugely successful Toledo School for the Arts, performed with Michigan Opera Theatre, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Toledo Symphony, Toledo Repertoire Theatre, Ann Arbor Performance Network, and Toledo Opera where he directed outreach programs and productions. He has performed as a soloist in concerts and events on the stages at the Fisher, Masonic Temple, Kerrytown Concert House, Stranahan and Valentine Theatres and has enjoyed singing the national anthem twice for Detroit Tigers games. Mr. Hopkins also held administrative positions with the Toledo Symphony, the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College and the Masonic Temple and Fisher Theaters. JHops is thankful for his colleagues in the Berkley Schools Community, most notably dear pals Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Julius, Mr. Meloche and Mrs. Terbrack (listed alphabetically for fairness), the custodial and secretarial staff and all of those who support our incredible students. Mr. Hopkins would also like to thank Mr. Guerra, Mr. Neideck, Ms. Noble, Jake Turner and Molly Zaleski for being an incredible team to lead. And finally, big thanks to the best neighbors on the face of the earth as well as Mike and Maddy Gazzarari who are pretty great to come home to!

Zachary Guerra was a student at BHS from 2011 to 2015. He spends most of his time writing, reading and painting. Zach wants to thank John Hopkins for his decade of mentorship, his old professor Doctor Timothy Connors for his wisdom, and his friends and family for their bottomless support.

Sarah Noble
This is Ms. Noble's fourth year vocal directing for Be Drama. Previous shows include SpongeBob, Cinderella, and Mamma Mia! She is a self-proclaimed theatre kid and has been onstage or behind the scenes at the Downriver Actors Guild, Southgate Community Players, AKT Theatre, Birmingham Village Players, Grosse Pointe Theatre, and more. Some of her favorite roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Ms. Noble is proud to direct Encore! and Concert Choir here at BHS, as well as the choirs at Norup International School. In addition to teaching and performing, Ms. Noble loves embroidery, taking walks, breakfast food, and cosplay. She is thankful for her amazing colleagues, Mom & Dad, Emmy & Jamie, Sarah Squared, and Toula. Enjoy the show!

Emma was a part of BE DRAMA during her time at BHS. Her favorite role she played was Jackie in Disaster! in 2019!! She is so happy to be back working with BE DRAMA as the assistant music director. Emma is the new music teacher teacher at Angell Elementary School! She also works at Warren Civic Theatre in various roles such as, music director, choreographer, and sometimes you'll even see her on stage!!!! Emma does not have any hobbies outside of music. She is so lucky that music is her hobby AND her job. Emma enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family and she has a huge obsession with SpongeBob, especially the musical! Ask her about her collection! :) Emma would like to thank her friends and family for always supporting her no matter what! Julia Carroll
Julia has worked on Cinderella, Laramie Project, SpongeBob, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and helped with set building for High School Musical Junior and Seussical for the middle schools. They’ve been onstage before in productions such as You're a Good man Charlie Brown and Beauty and the Beast. Julia is one of the vice presidents of BeDrama and loves to play guitar, sing, paint, draw and write. Julia loves to do anything hands on and creative, and plans to continue being creative in the future, whether this is onstage or on the side lines. Julia is thankful for all of their friends and family. They are grateful to have amazing teachers and role models such as JHops and Zach. A special thanks to Taryn Stone and James Crowe for always sticking by their side no matter what.

Anya has worked on costumes for every BeDrama production since her freshman year including All In The Timing, Cinderella, The Laramie Project, SpongeBob, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Seussical, and Legally Blonde. Before BeDrama, Anya participated in many productions with Macomb Civic Theatre, including Matilda, Annie, Seussical, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and The Beast, and others. Anya attends Oakland Schools Technical Campus for Culinary Arts & Hospitality. Anya is thankful for her friends and family, specifically her mom.

Angel has participated in building sets and creating props for numerous BeDrama productions including The Laramie Project, SpongeBob the Musical, Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s, Suessical jr, and now Legally Blonde. She only just recently became Head of Hair & Makeup during the fall production of MCM. Although Angel does not have much theatrical experience outside of BeDrama, she enjoys what she does and is excited to continue doing it. When Angel is not in crew or working on looks for BeDrama productions, she enjoys writing, listening to music, drawing, photography, and of course, theater. Angel is extremely thankful for her crew mates who make all the hard work worth it, and of course her friends and family who have always supported her throughout this journey. Enjoy the show guys!!!!

Margo has had the honor of participating as a member of build in the following productions; All in the Timing, Cinderella, The Laramie Project, SpongeBob the Musical, The Musical Murders of 1940, Seussical jr., and now Legally Blonde! Outside of drama, Margo partakes in many clubs and activities such as, K-Pop club, SNHS, NHS, environmental club, CASA student advisory committee, Berkley High dance team, and the Superintendent's advisory board. In her free time, Margo loves playing the violin and hanging out with her friends. Margo would love to thank her oldest friend, Taryn Stone. Without Taryn, her life wouldn't be the same. She has always supported Margo when things get tough, and has taught her so many things she'll never forget. It’s because of Taryn that she joined build and it was one of the best decisions of her life. Margo hopes to be able to show the same level of leadership, caring, and thoughtfulness as she moves onto her own senior year.

Legally Blonde is Hannah’s fifth show with the high school. She has also helped with various middle school productions. Hannah is on the varsity rugby team. She also plays trumpet in marching band and jazz ensemble. She is also a part of NHS, SNHS, and BATS. Hannah enjoys reading, crocheting, lifting, making music, and collecting music on vinyl. Hannah is thankful for her family, friends, and boyfriend. She’s especially thankful for Mia and Edgar who have gotten her through all the long tech weeks!

Quinn has been a part of The Laramie Project, Spongebob the Musical, and The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 with Be Drama. He is also a part of the cross country team and the Berkley band program. Marah has been in build since her freshman year, where she did sets for the Laramie Project and Spongebob the Musical. She returned her sophomore year and built for the Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s. Marah plays guitar in her free time. She also enjoys reading, hands-on art, and listening to music. Patrick has been a part of building sets for the Laramie Project, Spongebob the Musical, and Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. Patrick is part of BeDrama crew, attends Environmental Club meetings, Taylor Swift Club meetings, and is applying for NHS. Patrick likes to ski, rollerblade on occasion, and do electrical work. Peter Wardrope
Peter has worked on the Spongebob Musical, the Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, and smaller performances such as concerts. Peter is a part of the BHS marching band and concert band, playing several different percussion instruments. He takes a couple different music lessons, for drums and piano. Peter loves music, both listening to and playing. He plays the drums, piano, is teaching himself bass guitar, and is in a band. He also loves drawing and playing video games. He is thankful for the light crew heads Shaya and Mia and his sister Hannah for teaching him everything he knows about lighting and getting him into the light crew in the first place.

Hannah has been with the BeDrama lighting department since 6th grade and has taken part in several theatrical experiences such as the Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Cinderella, Spongebob, Laramie Project, All in the Timing, Elf Jr, and School House Rock Live Jr. Hannah is involved in several extracurriculars such as the Berkley Auditorium Technical Staff, and Figure Skating. Her hobbies include coaching (and performing) figure skating, spending time with friends and family, and baking. Finally, Hannah would like to thank her mom, dad, brother, boyfriend, and friends for always supporting her through the good and bad times, and never leaving her side. She believes she relates to Elle in "Legally Blonde" because just like Elle she likes taking risks and through the challenges she has faced she has learned to always remain true to herself.

James has worked on SpongeBob: The Musical, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Seussical Jr and Legally Blonde will be the last show he works on at BHS. He has painted and built the sets for all of these performances. James is involved in Environmental Club as well as Build. He is interested in the guitar, making jewelry, ceramics, spending time outside and gardening. James will attend the Oakland University Honors College for Environmental Sustainability in the fall. James would like to thank his friends and family, who have always been there to support him through any difficulties and haven’t left his side.

This is Maddi's first musical, but she enjoyed watching previous Be Drama performances and is excited to be a part of one for the first time. She is in the marching band, does jazz, and is on the rugby team. Maddi likes to do art in her free time, play video games, and hang out with her friends and family. She also loves listening to music and trying new things or going new places. She has some similar qualities to Elle Woods, (Woods comma Elle), such as a strong will to succeed. and would like to say thanks to her family and friends for supporting her, and thanks to everyone who was able to make this production happen.

Shira participated in Spongebob the Musical pit. She also helps out in the Berkley Auditorium Technical Staff. Shira is a part of the E-Sports team, the Paniac Yacht Club junior sailing program, and the Berkley Science National Honors Society. Shira enjoys playing in Berkley's Orchestra,reading, hanging out with friends, and volunteering. She is thankful for her parents, siblings, friends, and cats. This is Rebekah’s first BE DRAMA theatrical experience. Rebekah runs cross country and she is in the marching band. She enjoys playing in band, snowboarding, and hanging out with her friends. Just like Elle, pit got her whipped into shape! She would like to thank her friends for pushing her to do pit and her family for supporting her through rehearsals and at home practices. Sherry is involved in three national honors societies and Black Student Union. Sherry enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and doing lots of drawing. Next year, she plans on attending the University of Michigan with a major in mechanical engineering. Like Elle, she has strived for her dreams and risen above the doubts of others.

Cc has done other Be Drama shows such as Cinderella, the Laramie Project, SpongeBob, and The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. She loves seeing all the people and the shows come together while doing BeDrama. Cc also plays soccer in the spring and fall. She plays forward and midfield, she loves her soccer team who is always so positive and fun. Recently she has started crocheting more and while it is a struggle to learn, she enjoys doing this and seeing the progress being made. Cc is thankful for her mom who has always been her biggest supporter no matter what it is. She is also grateful for becoming very close with Margo and Lily who never let her stay in a bad mood. Finally she wants to thank Hannah, Addi, and Emelia who stuck by her side for years no matter the circumstances. She is proud of everyone, cast, pit, and crew, on this show for all the hard work put in these past few weeks to create Legally Blonde.

This is Eleanor’s first time playing flute in the orchestra pit. She is a member of D&D club, the BHS band program, and works at the Huntington Woods Library. Phoebe Brand
Phoebe plays the electric bass in the pit. Phoebe has participated in the Pit for two other BE DRAMA musicals in the past: Cinderella, and SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical. She continues to dabble in Pit related jobs professionally throughout Southeast Michigan. Phoebe is a member of two-thirds of the music programs here at BHS, such as: Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and of course the Pit ensemble for Be Drama. She also continues her best as the president of The Creative Writing Club. She enjoys playing her bass guitar outside of school, and also enjoys writing and drawing. She especially loves to play DND with her friends as much as she can. She hopes to be able to further her enthusiasm for Law and become a Lawyer, and also continue her passion for music as much as she can. Phoebe is thankful for her family, and all the friends she’s met in the pit along with the other music programs here at BHS. She wouldn’t have stayed sane without you. She’s also thankful to her amazing boyfriend who has come to all of her concerts no matter what. Thank you to all who came! And, listen for the bass in every song, this musical was one of the hardest bass books out there!

In eighth grade Dakotah participated in stage crew for the middle school production of High School Musical JR.. In their spare time he likes playing sports and hanging out with friends. When I’m seventh grade they heard his older sister Naomi Chimovitz play in the pit orchestra for Cinderella. Dakotah is part of the BHS marching band playing baritone saxophone, plays rugby, is on the ski team and in the future would like to be on the track team as well. They enjoy learning new music on different instruments, going on adventures with their siblings, hanging out with friends, and playing sports. He is really thankful for the support of friends and family in their journey.

Jess worked on High School Musical as well as Musical comedy murders of 1940. She helped with sound when she was in 8th grade. Jess was part of the BHS cross country team and is part of the BHS dance team and ski club. She plays guitar and piano. She also enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends. Claire participated onstage in middle school and joined the props department this fall for The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. Claire performs in community theatre and takes Jewelry/Metalsmithing classes at BBAC. She is involved in various BHS clubs and co-runs the Berkley Library YA book club as well as assisting with the Norup Drama Club. In her free time, Claire enjoys reading, writing, playing the violin, cooking, cake decorating, photography, gardening, painting, crocheting, and listening to music. Lily has been working with BE DRAMA for 3 years and this is her 6th show. She has worked on shows such as Cinderella, All in The Timing, The Laramie Project, Sponge-Bob the Musical, and The musical Comedy Murders of 1940. Lily also works with the BATS group and helps with lighting for school events. Lily loves to play video games with friends, paint, crochet, and listen to music. Emelia has participated in the fall play, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and the middle school production of Seussical. Emelia is in the Generation of Promise through focus hope as well as diversity council and she also works babysitting younger kids. Emelia loves to draw and is very creative. Emelia is thankful for her friends who encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone and try something new by joining crew, it has been a wonderful experience for her. It allowed her to meet new people and make friends. She is also thankful to the former co-head of makeup Jessica Mack for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the makeup department and to showcase her creative and unique skills. Julia is new this year so has only been a part of The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and Legally Blonde. At her previous school in New Jersey, Julia was a crew member in the Little Mermaid. Since crew takes up most of her afternoons, Julia doesn’t have much room for other extracurricular unfortunately, although she applied for NHS, and is going to start some outside of school art classes. Julia really enjoys reading, watching movies and doing crafts, which is why she really loves doing crew! Julia would like to thank all of her friends that she has made this year in crew, and her family, for making the transition from Michigan to New Jersey much easier! Julia is so excited to take part in crew for the rest of her high school years, and who knows? Maybe even afterwards too.

Zach enjoyed helping build the set of the Musical Comedy Murderer of 1940 and making new friends. He plays basketball for Berkley Hoops and crew for BHS. Zach likes to play video games with his friends, playing basketball, and making new things. Zach hopes to go to O-TEC and be in crew when he is a senior. Zach is thankful for his mom for giving him support through challenges. Kyleigh was also a part of crew for Spongebob and The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. Kyleigh started her theater journey at BHS, where she continues to learn more with her peers. She enjoys reading books, ceramics and taking walks with her dogs. In her spare time Kyleigh enjoys making pottery and baking. She is very grateful for her mother who always supports her as well as pushes her to try new hobbies and learn new skills. This is her 2nd year and she got many of her friends to join!

Skylar helped build sets and paint for The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and this current production, Legally Blonde. She loves being in build and meeting all the wonderful people in the department and always looks forward to it. She would love to explore more theater opportunities in the future, but typically stays with BeDrama. Skylar is involved with the Berkley High School cross country team and has been since freshman year, as well as Soccer for Oakland county and her hostess job. She loves to crochet and come up with creative things to draw and paint in her free time, as well as thrifting, something she thoroughly enjoys. Skylar Boundy is thankful for her fellow crew members and the atmosphere they create in the build department. As this is her first year in crew, the loving environment has made her feel welcome in the department and she always looks forward to going. The members are always hard working and doing their best while still maintaining a positive outlook through stress.

Wyatt Carlson
Wyatt has 2 years of build experience, he has helped contribute to build the sets of The Laramie Project, Spongebob the Musical, and The Musical Murder Comedy of 1940. Wyatt is the Human Resource Manager for Build but hopes to expand to BeDrama. Wyatt is thankful for all of the crew and cast, but he is especially thankful for the heads of build crew, which are Quinn and Tegan, since none of this would’ve been possible without them.

This is Ann’s first BeDrama production, but she has been dramatic her entire life. Ann is part of the BHS Jazz Ensemble, Varsity Rugby team, and the Marching Band. She is also a committee leader of NHS as well as a member of SNHS and the Berkley Auditorium Technical Staff. Ann enjoys baking and cooking, especially for her family and friends. She also loves going to concerts, traveling, and sleeping. Ann is thankful for her Mom, Dad, and brother Mark, as well as Redbull and her dog Goober.

Maya plans on focusing on more technological studies during her senior year. Emily has played violin in the pit orchestra for Berkley’s musicals for the last three years. Emily also participates in the high school’s robotics team. She enjoys working with children and has two jobs teaching kids robotics. Emily plans to major in computer engineering and is undecided on what college she will attend. Emily is thankful for all of her friends, family, and teachers. Emily is especially thankful for the strong and intelligent women on her robotics team who continue to pave the way for other women to learn more about STEM. Emily loves women and all the amazing things they do!

Audrey has been with BeDrama for 2 years. She has worked on “The Laramie Project” and “SpongeBob the Musical” along with this year’s fall production “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940”. Audrey is on the JV BHS girls golf team in the fall. She likes to be creative, and spend time with her family and friends. Audrey is very thankful for our amazing stage manager Taryn Stone and our head of build Julia Carroll for being so amazing! And our other awesome heads of build Quinn Loree and Tegan Stone!
