Thank you for joining us to celebrate the talents of our playwrights, producers and players. Whether behind or in the spotlights, students learn what it takes to put a play “on its feet” when they participate in Playwrights, Producers, & Players: Let’s Get Dramatic! -our winter production. The cast and crew create characters, identify theme and conflict, problem-solve, team-build, without even realizing that they are learning. This year, around thirty students participated in the playwriting workshops. From the sixteen scripts that were submitted, five were chosen for the HMS Winter production with input from the Drama Club and guest directors. Our guest directors: Steven Hartzell and Shelby Gray, both AU students; Brandon Dubois, Marion Civic Theatre Director; and Karen Sipes, Drama Club Coach.  This year, thirty-eight people comprise the cast, crew, and production team. 

  Playwrights, Producers, & Players: Let’s Get Dramatic! 2020 

is a project funded by Anderson Community Schools Foundation, Inc. since 2012.

The playwrights will be submitted their plays to The Greenberg Project Competition on February 15, 2020. They competed with other middle School submissions from around the state of Indiana. For the last four years, a Highland student has won the middle school category in this competition. The winning plays were produced by The Alley Theatre, and they received a monetary prize of $500.
