Lori Hunt (Lucretia Garfield)
LORI is delighted to return to Tucson after 5 years in Seattle to make her Winding Road debut as Lucretia Garfield. While in Seattle, Lori originated the role of Gladys in Taproot Theatre’s touring production of OPEN ON CHRISTMAS and played Lenny in the Woodinville Rep’s CRIMES OF THE HEART. Lori was last seen on Tucson stages as Barbara in SHEAR MADNESS; she won a 2013 MAC Award as Mindy in FIVE WOMEN WEARING THE SAME DRESS. She is adjusting nicely back to the desert and is once again welcoming sunshine and lizards into her life. She would like to thank her folks for the loan of their guest room and spectacles and for their unending support. Love you, Dad and Jane!
Susan Cookie Baker (Grace Coolidge)
SUSAN has been acting and teaching in Tucson for over 25 years. CONSOLATIONS marks her third show with Winding Road. Most recently she played (Marion) in the site specific production of ANGELS FALL. Her other Winding Road character was (June) in the play, 5th OF JULY, also written by Langford Wilson. Susan has performed at dozens of venues throughout Tucson, primarily INVISIBLE THEATRE but also at LIVE THEATER WORKSHOP, WINDING ROAD THEATER, CATALINA PLAYERS and has acted in over a 100 murder mystery’s through ACT ONE THEATER COMPANY. Some of her ensemble work includes; COMING APART, 20TH CENTURY BLUES, MOTHERHOOD OUTLOUD, I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES, OLIVE AND THE BITTER HERB, LEAVING IOWA, NOW AND THEN, NO SEX PLEASE WE’RE BRITISH, THE NERD, THE DINNER PARTY, HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES, DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER, THE GINGERBREAD LADY, MR. GOLDBERG’S PRODIGAL SON, TWELFTH NIGHT, LOOK MA WE’RE DANCING, and SHEAR MADNESS.
Lena Quach (Julia Tyler)
LENA is delighted to be in CONSOLATION, directed by China Young. Here recent/favorite roles include CAROUSEL, THE BIG MEAL and THE FANTASTICKS, for which she received a MAC Nomination. She will also be featured in SWEENEY TODD with Arts Express in October. Lena is also an OMA Design Team Artist for Tucson Unified School District. She receive ballet training with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ballet Arts. She is also a proud member of Winding Road Theater Ensemble.
Abigail Dunscomb (Louisa Adams)
ABIGAIL is thrilled to be working with Winding Road Theatre Ensemble again! She is currently finishing up the last semester of her degree at the U of A, as well as being a student with the Bennett Theatre Lab. Over the last few years, she has enjoyed working with various theatre companies across the Tucson area including Pima Community College, El Rio Theatre Company’s Shakespeare in the Park, Roadrunner Theatre Company, Something Something Theatre, and The Community Players. She still credits Winding Road’s all-female production of William Shakespeare’s JULIUS CAESAR as her favorite production thus far in her career. She was also lucky enough to work as a dramaturg on their production of Lanford Wilson’s ANGELS FALL earlier this year. CONSOLATION is her second foray into the world of socially-distanced theatre having also been a part of Something Something Theatre’s dual production of the one-woman show VALERIE.
Kat McIntosh (Eliza Johnson/Mary Lincoln)
KAT is thrilled to be returning to Winding Road after having played Woman #2 in THE BIG MEAL and Eliza Johnson in the first reading of CONSOLATION. Most recently, she played Maid in BLOOD WEDDING with Scoundrel & Scamp as well as Mika in THE MERMAID HOUR and Miguel in A TUCSON PASTORELA both with Borderlands. Previous credits include five seasons with Southwest Shakespeare Company, two seasons with Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, and three national tours with Cleveland Signstage Theatre. Kat studied at The National Theater Institute as well as The Moscow Art Theatre and received a BA in Theater from Wellesley College as well as an MFA in Acting from Trinity Rep Conservatory.
Denise Blum (Ladybird Johnson/Jane Pierce)
DENISE arrived in Tucson in 2006. Prior to that, she co-created the International Amateur Community Theater (I-ACT) in La Serena, Chile, and acted in, directed, and produced live theater for the benefit of local charities. Since arriving in Tucson, she finds herself fortunate to have worked with several local theater companies including Winding Road, The Arizona Rose, Beowulf Alley, The Comedy Playhouse, El Rio Theatre Project, St. Francis in the Heights, SheWorxx, Speak the Speech. Some of her favorite stage acting credits include Steel Magnolias , The Lady and the Clarinet (Luba), The Little Foxes, Upton Abbey, Pieces, The Mousetrap, and In The Shadow of My Son. Her directing credits include London Suite, Strawberry Jam, Pygmalion, A Long Trip, and The Elephant Man (Assistant Director). She co-produced the 2020 Eight 10's in Tucson - Online and will co-produce the 2021 festival. Denise is a member of the Winding Road Theater Ensemble.
Molly Lyons (Hillary Clinton)
MOLLY is an actor/director who has worked across the US and internationally in Canada & Europe, recently transplanted from Chicago, and thrilled to now make her home in Tucson. Some of her favorite roles include: Ellie – Sweet Texas Reckoning, Cabdriver – Hellcab, Quickly & Worcester – Father Ruffian, Paola – Chewing on Beckett, Nurse – Romeo & Juliet, Beatrice – Much Ado About Nothing, Titania – A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cecilia – At Water’s Edge and, as the last queen of Ireland in her solo show, A Most Notorious Woman. Molly has also directed such productions as: Angels Fall, On the Verge, Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, Barber of Seville, Magic Flute, Carmen, The Foreigner, Diary of Anne Frank, The Clearing, an award-winning Glass Menagerie. Molly’s education includes: Santa Clara University, California Institute of the Arts, Royal Shakespeare Company. Molly has been Artistic Director of Green Wood Studios, actor training & retreats, since 1994.
Cynthis Jeffery (Ellen Wilson/Ida McKinley)
CYNTHIA has been a resident of Hawaii and Arizona for 35+ years. This is her third production with Winding Road Theatre; the first being THE LITTLE FOXES, followed by THE BIG MEAL.She has worked as a DJ for K-Hawaii’s Rock N’ Roll and earned 4 Tiki Awards for Best Actress in HCP's A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, MACBETH, CRIMES OF THE HEART and BEYOND THERAPY. In Tucson, she received an LTW Best Actress Award for THE GLASS MENAGERIE, 7 MAC Nominations for THE BIG MEAL, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, THE BUSY WORLD IS HUSHED, RICHARD III, DEATH AND THE MAIDEN, THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES, NO EXIT and RELATIVELY SPEAKING, and 2 Carmen Nominations for THE LITTLE FOXES & THE BIG MEAL. Other credits include HUMBLE BOY, THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE, THE NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM, and A KID LIKE JAKE.
