Phil Knoerzer has been a member of Ujima Co., has done several productions with them before that, and is now a proud Ujima Alumni member. He played Gideon LaRoux in the 1995 production of PLAYLAND which was directed by Sarah Norat-Phillips. Phil directed a number of plays for Ujima, among them TOPDOG/UNDERDOG; PUDD’NHEAD WILSON; BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY; THE VISIT; A MATTER OF INTENT; WHEN OCTOBER GOES and DISTANT FIRES. He has acted for Ujima in many productions as well—IN DE BEGINNIN’; MEDEIA; THE BLACKS; SIDEMAN; IN THE BLOOD; A BODY OF WATER; A LIE OF THE MIND and THE BEST WOMAN, to name a few. He has worked in nearly every theater in Buffalo for the past 40 years, including a ten-year stint with Shakespeare In Delaware Park and has some truly great memories.
