The Prout School is a vibrant Catholic community that educates the whole person for productive membership in the global community by fostering quality in spiritual, academic, artistic and athletic pursuits.

Prout boasts one of the leading high school arts programs in the state. The department strives for its students to explore and develop their creative talents in the classroom and on stage, as well as with community outreach programs. We aspire to train young performers and visual artists by preparing them to enter competitive college and conservatory arts programs. The study of theatre provides students with experiences that build confidence and gives students opportunities to be creative and collaborate with others.  Involvement in theatre can expose students to other cultures, times, and literature while building and developing interpersonal skills.

Through their study, students are encouraged to take risks, understand studio discipline and learn to work independently and cooperatively. The department presents many events each academic year. These include plays, musicals, workshops, art exhibits, and dance and music concerts.
