Properties
Jan VanderPutten
JAN VANDERPUTTEN (Properties): was collecting props for Casa Valentina, which was to be presented during March-April 2020, when COVID arrived; everything changed after that and our season was put on hold. Thankfully, Noel MacDuffie came along and saved her (at least for a little while) from crocheting yet another baby blanket, shawl or throw. Pulling props in a mostly empty theater, while wearing a mask and disposable gloves, was an oddly sad experience; coming across another masked/gloved person doing the same thing made it even odder – and sadder. But I suspect there was great joy during rehearsals and filming of The Heights Murders. Even though I was never there to witness the same, I heard stories – one always hears stories in the theater: “Oh, it’s so much fun – you should come watch!” or “I’m having the best time!” were the norm. Thank you, Noel, for trusting me to provide props, even at a distance. Previously, during the shortened 2019 season, Jan propped The Last Night of Ball
