Maggie Akchin (Molly (May 18, 19, 20))
Margaret is thrilled to be in her second Miracle Players show and in her first scripted role. Margaret loves to sing and dance and directs home performances with her younger siblings, Anne and Peter. Margaret wants to thank her Mom, her Dad and her cousin Abby for helping her prepare at home.
Jillian Arnold (Choreographer)
Jillian is happy to be back working with Miracle Players after having performed in last years' production of "Joseph" as a featured dancer. She performs and choreographs regularly with theaters in the Baltimore area. Jillian would like to thank her parents for their love and support, and her son Grayson for being her inspiration and the light of her life. She also wants to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work.
Ann Baden (Apple Seller)
This is Ann's seventeenth play with the Miracle Players. Some of the plays she has appeared in include Music Man, The King and I, Murder's in the Heir, Wonderland, Damn Yankees, The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens, Secret Garden, Fiddler on the Roof, Our Town and Man of LaMancha. She is a lector at St. Gabriel's and decided that if she could read in front of a church full of people, she could recite lines in a theater full of people.
Austin Buerhaus (July (May 11, 12, 13))
Austin is nine years old and a third-grade student at Thomas Johnson Elementary. Austin enjoys singing and dancing and performing on stage. This is Austin’s second show performance. His first performance was Amahl and The Night Visitors in which he played the parts of Amahl and a shepherd at Riverside Stage.
Mary Beth Bunting (Boylan Sister, Music Director)
Mary Beth is a Junior at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, majoring in biological sciences with a minor in music. This is her second time music directing at St. Gabriel’s. She most recently played Becky in St. Gabriel’s production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol. Mary Beth is ecstatic to have the opportunity to perform in this production, in addition to music directing. She would like to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work, especially the little orphans and Sandys for their focus and dedication to their roles. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their unending support and love. Remember, you’re never fully dressed without a smile!
Ava Cantwell (Molly (May 11, 12, 13))
Ava is eight years old and in the second grade. This is Ava’s first theater production and she is excited to have this experience with the Miracle Players. In addition to loving song and dance, Ava is actively involved as a Brownie in the Girls Scouts program and plays several sports. Ava wishes to thank her family, friends and all the Miracle Players for their never-ending support and for never getting tired of hearing her sing It’s a Hard Knock Life.
Kenya Cantwell (Hoovervillian)
Kenya is a mother of two who is performing with a community theater for the first time. She would like to thank her husband and children for their love and support. Kenya would also like to thank fellow cast mates and the production team for this wonderful experience.
Ashley Case (Lily (May 11,12,13))
Ashley is ecstatic to be back performing on the Miracle Players stage! Ashley is a senior at Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School and will be attending Salisbury University in the fall. Some of her past credits include Grandma (The Addams Family), Arleen (45 Seconds from Broadway), a Napkin (Beauty and the Beast), the Interpreter (The King and I), and Rebecca Gibbs (Our Town). Ashley would like to thank the entire cast and crew for welcoming her into the show, as well as her family, friends, and boyfriend for being so supportive. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Kacy Conley (Producer, Sophie)
Kacy has been with the Miracle Players for 29 years. Highlights have included various roles producing, directing and acting - directing Oliver!, Kismet, Nuncrackers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Murder’s in the Heir, and Rented Christmas. Kacy also performed as Mrs. Julia Gibbs in Our Town, Frumah-Sara in Fiddler on the Roof, Alice in The Secret Garden, Mother in Cheaper by the Dozen, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Sister Helen in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, Mom Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, the Sorceress of the North in Wizard of Oz, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, and Lady Thiang in The King and I. She thanks her husband Dan for all his support. She is especially thankful to the wonderful production team, cast and crew led by Heidi Toll.
Molly Connell (Duffy (May 18, 19, 20))
Molly is a 12-year-old actress in middle school who loves what she does. Besides acting, she loves to draw and play video games. This is her first time appearing at St. Gabriel’s Miracle Players. Her favorite past roles include a shepherdess in Amahl and the Night Visitors and Fan/Jane Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her, and all of her friends at school for putting up with her singing 24/7.
Sophia Cooper (Tessie (May 12, 18, 20 ))
Sophia is excited to be playing Tessie in Annie. She is a fourth grader at The Wilkes School at Grace & St. Peter's and likes reading and making jokes. She attended the Musical Artists Theatre summer camp for the last two years and previously appeared in A Christmas Carol and Amahl and the Night Visitors with Riverside Stage. She hopes to one day travel to Paris, where she would go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Forest Deal (Harold Ickes, Drake, Hoovervillian)
Forest is reprising the first roles he had with Miracle Players (Annie, 2004). Since then he has performed in four other shows with Miracle Players, most recently as Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with full beard) and as Dr. John Watson in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol (with mustache). His hobbies include refereeing soccer games and growing or shaving off his facial hair to match the role he is currently playing. His current favorite number is 1,236.
Therese DeMarco (Duffy (May 11, 12, 13), Pepper (May 19))
Therese Claire DeMarco is excited to perform in her second theatrical role, but her first musical. Both performances were with the Miracle Players, where she adores all the hard workers and the stage. She is excited to play the role of Duffy because this orphan is the loudest and the tallest! When not performing on the stage, she sings and dances at home, church, or anywhere she can find an audience!
Lauren DeSha (Grace Farrell)
Lauren has been in over twenty shows in the past seven years and has worked with eight different theater groups. Favorite past roles include Mary in A Wonderful Life, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Lady Thiang in The King and I, Goneril in King Lear, and Barbara in Night of the Living Dead. She is thrilled to be working with Miracle Players again! Annie is a childhood favorite and it’s very exciting to be part of this great cast.
Amelia Gauvey (Kate (May 18, 19, 20))
Having just discovered her love of performing, Amelia has only appeared in one other production, Amahl & the Night Visitors. She has been dancing for four years, this is her first experience with the Miracle Players.
Jana Gauvey (Usher)
Back at performing after a quite long hiatus, Jana started back up to support her kids, who have discovered they enjoy performing. This is her first performance with the Miracle Players.
Gertrude (Sandy)
Gertrude is a 5-month-old Golden Doodle. She is the beloved pet to Mia Novak - Annie. This is Gertrude’s very first time in a show and is loving every minute of it! She loves going for rides in the car, swimming at the beach, and her most favorite past time of all - trying to see how close she can get to our cat before she gets scratched. Gertrude will patiently be awaiting her next big opportunity to become a star!
R. Scott Graham (Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Mr. Bundles)
Scott is pleased to make his debut with Miracle Players. Scott has kicked around the Baltimore community theatre environment for almost 30 years, acting and directing in numerous musicals and plays over the years. His favorite roles have been the Lion in The Wizard of Oz and Fagin in Oliver. His favorite directorial effort was for the script he wrote based on the novel, Tuesdays With Morrie, by Mitch Albom. Scott would like to thank his wife, Julia, for putting up with her Peter Pan for 26 years and his kids for continuing to give up important social time to come to his productions. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Andrew Gurtshaw (Rooster)
Last seen as Robert Cratchet in Scrooge the Musical. Credits include Beauty and the Beast (Monsieur D Argue), Little Mermaid (Flotsam), Seussical (Genghis khan Schmitz), Secret Garden (Fakir), Roger Davis (RENT), and Meet Me in St. Louis (John Truitt). Other credits include Company and Barefoot in the Park. Thanks to Heidi and the rest of the cast and crew. Enjoy the show!
Natalie Haney (Tessie (May 11, 13, 19))
Natalie is a sixth grade student at Thomas Johnson Elementary Middle and enjoys reading, writing, the theater and singing. She has performed as Officer O'Malley in Comic Book Artist and Daisey & Door #1 in Alice@Wonderland and is currently in the role of Commander Coburn in The Aliens are Coming! with the TJEMS drama club. She has performed in the Musical Artists Theatre productions of A Christmas Carol and Amahl and the Night Visitors at Riverside Stage. She is very excited to be performing for the first time with the St. Gabriel Miracle Players.
Jerry Khatcheressian (Cordell Hull)
This is Jerry's 2nd production with St. Gabriel Players, having played the Rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof. He is retired from NASA with 53 shows under his belt. He will not bore you by naming all the shows, but would like to mention his favorite part, Hystarium, in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He would like to thank Heidi for offering him the role of Hull, and being his friend.
Doug Kotula (Oliver Warbucks)
Doug is thrilled to be making his St. Gabriel's debut. A graduate of NYU's Master's program in theatre, Doug is the resident Drama Director at Pikesville H.S. Locally, he has appeared as The Big Bad Wolf in Shrek the Musical, Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Cpt. Hook/Mr. Darling in Peter Pan and Wendy, and The King in The King and I. While in NYC Doug originated the role of Ike in the world premiere of WOW! Women of Wonder and appeared as The Cello in The Morpheus Quartet. Thank you, Heidi for this most enjoyable, theatrical experience!
Ana Lohrmann (Hoovervillian, Servant)
Ana is smiling ear to ear with pride getting to play alongside her daughter Mayah (Annie), husband Nate (Hoovervilian, Servant), and dog Trina (Sandy) in this first time family production! Favorite roles include Miss Hannigan in Annie with Baltimore Children's Theater and Pop in Chicago with Silhouette Stages. Ana would like to thank Heidi who inspires and encourages her more than she knows. I tried to be good but got bored too, Heidi!
Mayah Lohrmann (Annie (May 18, 19, 20))
Mayah (9) is so excited to take on her first lead role! She loved playing Lucinda in Into the Woods, Jr. at STAR Camp last summer and the other roles at school, church, and local theaters. When she's not on stage she's creating art, discovering nature, reading fiction, hanging out with family and friends, or watching TV when her parents lets her get away with it. Mayah would like to thank her family and neighbors for taking her to rehearsals and her mother for helping her prepare for the audition.
Nate Lohrmann (Fred McCracken, Wacky)
Nate is thrilled to be making his stage debut with the St. Gabriel Miracle Players! He is extra thrilled that his stage debut involves sharing the stage with his amazing wife (Ana), superb daughter (Mayah) and adequate dog (Trina)! Nate’s previous acting experience was in high school as a member of “The Six Tasteless Men” sketch comedy troupe. In his limited free time, Nate enjoys playing drums, salsa dancing and engaging in both vibrant and relaxing activities with his lovely and talented wife and daughter.
Mia Novak (Annie (May 11, 12, 13))
Juanita "Mia" Novak is a 12-year-old 6th-grader who attends Brooklyn Park Middle School PVA program for vocals. Mia has had the privilege of starring in many great roles: Sopie Who- The Grinch, Susan Walker - Miracle on 34Th Street and Bielka – Fiddler On The Roof, all with Pasadena Theater. She has starred in Cinderella as Cinderella with Catonsville's Children Theater. Mia loves to sing and loves to play all musical instruments. Mia will also be starring in two upcoming shows -Oompa Loompa in Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory at Chesapeake Arts Theater and Shrek as Fiona with Catonsville Children's Theater. Mia would like to thank all her family and friends for coming out to support her and her mother and father for driving her to all her practices and sacrificing so much for her.
Gracin O’Connor (Pepper (May 11, 12, 13, 18, 20))
Gracin is 12 years old and is a seventh-grader at Elkridge Landing Middle School. She is very excited to be playing Pepper in her second show with the Miracle Players. She recently joined the children’s chorus for Howard High School’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her experience in Joseph with the Miracle Players made for an easy time with the High School show. Gracie would like to thank her family for taking her back and forth to practice and for letting her sing in the car, and house, and outside, and in the store, etc…

Meghan Sova (Annette, Boylan Sister, Lily)
Meghan is making her debut with Miracle Players after a 6-year hiatus from theater. She is excited to be back on stage with an amazing cast. Some of her past and favorite roles include the following: Louisa from The Fantasticks, Tweedle Dee in Alice in Wonderland, Tessie in Annie, and Silly Girl in Beauty and The Beast. While she is not on stage, Meghan works as a music therapist for Sheppard Pratt Health Systems and provides private voice, piano, and guitar lessons. Meghan would like to thank her family and fiancé, Caleb, for their support and love. Break legs!
Leonard Taube (Bert Healy, Morganthau)
Lenny is happy to return to the Miracle Players Stage! He has been in several MP productions including The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens, Man of La Mancha and, most recently, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Lenny hopes the show brings a smile to your face because, remember folks, you’re never fully dressed without one!
Heidi Toll (Director, Miss Hannigan)
This is one of Heidi’s signature roles, having played it several times. Heidi earned a Music degree in her native Ohio, has appeared with Tampa Opera & New Orleans Opera, is an AGMA member, cantors professionally at three churches, sings professionally with Joyous Voices a capella, She has directed 14 musicals for St. Gabriel, but this is the first time she has also been in it. Recent & Favorite Roles: Potiphar’s Wife (Joseph…Dreamcoat ), Anna in The King & I , Eulalie McKechnie Shinn in Music Man (3 times!), Stepmother in Into the Woods for RTP & 2nd Star, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof for Pasadena TC, Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit, Julia in Lend Me a Tenor for Heritage, Emma Goldman in Ragtime, Joanne in Company & Charlotte in Moon Over Buffalo in Laurel. Also Amahl & the Night Visitors for Riverside Stage. This performance dedicated to David O’Brien, my first Daddy Warbucks. We “remember him in light.”
Nathalie Tolosa (Kate (May 11, 12, 13))
Nathalie is a nine-year-old third-grader, born in Windsor Mill, MD. She wants to become a veterinarian when she grows up. She likes singing and acting. This is her 3rd participation in a Miracle Players show. The other two shows were Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Music Man.
Taunton Welsh (Radio Announcer)
Taunton has portrayed a senior citizen in many plays since his debut as Jacob in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat in 1998. Over the years he has cooked, supervised the kitchen, directed, produced and/or acted in so many Miracle Player productions it's hard to know which to spotlight. His favorite is always the role he's playing currently. Other St. Gabriel activities are Catechist, Cantor, and member of the Spanish and English choirs.
John D. Wiggins (Officer Ward)
John is pleased to be again part of the Miracle Players in Annie with his wife and daughter. Previous performances include Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Kralahome in The King and I; the Captain and Muleteer ;in Don Quixote, Sir Studley in Once Upon a Mattress; the Constable in Fiddler on the Roof with The Miracle Players and Pasadena Theatre Company; the reptilian malfeasant lawyer in The Plot Like Gravy Thickens; and Vice Principal Ponch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; as well as other roles in Murder’s in the Heir; Damn Yankees; A Rented Christmas[ Guys and Dolls; and Kiss Me Kate. John also missed the boat in Titanic the Musical with Heritage Players. He hopes you enjoy Annie!
Kristy Wiggins (Mrs. Greer, Hoovervillian)
Kristy is happy to be part of another Miracle Players show. She began performing with the cast in the production of Murder’s in the Heir when she convinced her husband, John, to join her. She is glad she did! Her favorite role has been her role of Mommy to Jack and Molly. She performs Monday through Friday for an audience of eleven-year-olds as a fifth-grade teacher at Woodbridge Elementary.
Molly Wiggins (Mary)
Molly is thrilled to be back with the Miracle Players in one of her favorite shows. She loves singing all the songs and has practiced them loud and clear in the car! Molly has been seen in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, The King and I, and Fiddler on the Roof. Molly would like to say thanks for another fun experience!
Sharon Zelefsky (Mrs. Pugh, Frances Perkins)
Sharon has performed in theatre and television throughout Virginia and Maryland; including Norfolk and Virginia Beach Little Theatres, Cockpit in Court, Vagabond Players, Bowie Community Theatre, Reisterstown Theatre Project, Liberty Showcase Theatre, St. Gabriel’s Miracle Players and Charm City Players. Her credits include principal roles in Mame, Suddenly Last Summer, Rumors, Dearly Beloved, Inspecting Carol, Kitchen Witches, The Plot like Gravy Thickens, Daddy’s Dyin….Who’s Got the Will?, Mary Poppins, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol and recently as the outrageous Heather Van Pree in Nana’s Naughty Knickers. However, her finest productions will forever be her amazing sons, Zachary and Joshua. And always, she wishes to thank her devoted husband, Harvey, for his continued support behind the scenes, literally and figuratively.
