STANLEY C JACKSON SR (MR (J) JACKSON)
Aside from writing, directing, and song writing duties, jackson has also played a role in every SJM Production accept one. "The Golden Box", which he of course wrote, directed and composed all of the music.
JOHN A JOHNSON (BUFORD)
A product of the Memphis TN Performing arts Schools, John is an accomplished violinist and vocalist. A graduate of the University of Evansville with a degree in music, he has excelled in the arts. John is a recording artist (Curtain Call) and is a regular featured performer in SJM Productions. His credits include: “yet holding on”, “who do you think you are”, “Guess who’s coming for Christmas”, “it takes a village”, “can’t wait til Sunday”, “Living in the black”. He was also a DPI Nominee for Actor of the Year
JESSICA JACKSON (ROSELYN DENISE TUCKER)
Was born and raised in Evansville Indiana, but now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has aspirations to be an actress in the theater as well as on the big screen. She started her creative journey at John Robert Powers as a student actress and model. Her dance credits include: Choreography and dance for SJM Productions and dance coach and dancer at Western Kentucky University. Jessica graduated with a minor in Musical Theater and has performed in six (6) SJM Theater Productions
KATIE WATERS (MS ODESSA BURNS)
Katie Waters is a known psalmist who delights herself in the Lord and counts it a blessing to be able to give back to him the gifts he has given her. She has had the opportunity to sing at conventions, conferences, special events and numerous celebratory occasions not only in the state of Nevada; but, in other states as well. She recorded an album “The conclusion of the Matter”. God has gifted her to minister the spoken word and is now further enlarging her territory to include her first role in a stage production “STRIVE! THE MUSICAL". Katie is married to Rev. Willie Waters and together they have three (3) children and five (5) grandchildren. This is Katie Waters debut SJM Production!
SIERRA HUDSON (LISA)
Sierra s a 26 year old who was born in Barstow, California. She was relocated to Las Vegas as a young girl and started acting at the age of 13. Sierra attended Las Vegas Academy and majored in Theater with an aspiration to become an actress right out of high school. She studied Interdisciplinary Studies at UNLV for Two (2) years and plans on returning to school to study film and education. This is her first performance on stage since 2011.
TEQUIA BARRETT (DELILAH)
A native of Gary, Indiana. TeQuia has years of experience singing in church choirs, praise teams, as well as, various performances in religious plays and singing with local bands and Motown events in Evansville, Indiana. She currently resides in Las Vegas where she works in the field of education and, in her spare time, sings lead with a local band. This is Tequia's debut SJM Production!
RUBY DENAE' PAYNE (BRANDY)
Ruby-Denae is a Las Vegas Native. She is a full time student majoring in choreography and performance at University of Nevada . She is minoring in music technology. She has always had a love for acting as she studied Shakespeare in elementary school and stage and light design in middle school. She strives to help people feel more connected through our life experiences in her artistic expression .
STEPHANIE WOODS (CASE WORKER)
Stephanie Woods was born in Peoria Illinois. She later moved to Las Vegas and eventually grew a family of her own here. She is happily married with adult children and a host of grandchildren. Stephanie has always had a love for the theater. She has done a few different plays in church and other projects and has always felt at home on stage . Stephanie is a DIVA, divine Inspiring Victorious and ANOINTED many people have seen her in plays and have enjoyed every bit of it.
PATRICE MONCEL (SARAH)
PATRICE MONCEL’ – SINGER/SONGWRITER & ACTRESS Born and Raised in Chicago, Illinois, Patrice Moncel’ humble beginnings began singing in Church at an early age. Garnered singing techniques by her classically trained father who sang with the famous Gospel Group The Jackson Southernaires and The Soul Stirs (which singers like Sam Cooke, Johnny Taylor, and her famous cousin Blues Singer Tyrone Davis sang with). “Patrice Moncel’ Powerful Smokey and Raspy Alto/Contralo voice is the pinned essence of the late great legendary songtress Etta James ( said Tyrone Davis)” Patrice Moncel’ has landed her a role in the Production Solid Gold Soul Show at Bally’s Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada Patrice Moncel’ is currently getting her acting skills on by appearing in the Hit Stageplay: Can A Woman Raise A Man. The first African American stageplay that has ever had residence on the Las Vegas strip and is currently touring cities.
REGGIONE JONES (SHARMAINE)
Was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana with dreams of becoming an actress. She has been a part of musicals, and short films, in the areas of set design, costume, makeup, and choir throughout middle school and high school. Over the years, Reggie has had the opportunity to perform in the areas of Praise Dancing and Step Team in Reno Nevada. Her future goals are to continue to progress in the acting industry and to be cast in more film and theater roles.
MORRIS A CAMMON (APARTMENT HUNTER)
Is no stranger to the theater. A seasoned veteran of the stage from Cleveland Ohio to Las Vegas, Morris has participated and performed in many productions such as: “A RAISIN IN THE SUN”, “BEFORE IT HITS HOME”. and “THE BLACKS: A CLOWN SHOW” to name a few. She is also a skilled dress maker and has provided costuming for dance recitals for the Cleveland School of the Arts. This is her first SJM production.

JULIAN DAVID-LEE FARRIS (LIL WILLIE - PAPER BOY)
He's s the youngest, yet the tallest cast member! Strive the Musical is Julian's debut performance on a stage outside of high school. Julian has been in numerous photo shoots, run way, and video shoots here in Las Vegas. You can follow him on Instagram @JullianFarris (with 2 L's because he's bigger than most. This is Julian's debut SJM Production!
HURTNUM VEGAS (DUKE)
s extremely excited to be apart of such a successful body of work such as Strive The Musical. Though this is his first theatrical appearance, Jay is no stranger to the stage. He has performed in multiple public settings during his comedic career in stand-up sets as himself as well as other characters he’s developed such as; J Mostest. In his spare time he paints custom artwork and continues to develop his own artwork brand name and logos with the hopes of expanding his work and material not only locally, but internationally. Jay is a Las Vegas native, born and raised in the Silver State., graduating from Western High School. He is one of thirteen children to a very large locally rooted and highly respected family within the community. Even though this is his first appearance on a stage of this magnitude he hopes it won't be his last. Jay B Mccoy Jr., plans to continue his pursuit in knowledge and experience within all areas of the arts.
AMBER WATSON (POLICE OFFICER)
Is a Las Vegas local. This is her debut comedic role in a SJM production. She initially became interested in acting as a child after attending live plays. She was introduced to African American screenplays in a high school Drama class. Her favorites include August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson and Fences. She was also inspired in a college Theatre class by Camp Logan, a production of The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY. She intends on being a storyteller through screenwriting. She also aspires to act in more roles that shed light into the African American Experience.
KENT BUTLER (OMAR)
A native of Milwaukee, WI, and a resident of Las Vegas, for 10 Years, Kent made his LV Black Gospel Theatre debut with "Troubled Waters' and has appeared in a number of Theater, Movie and Television Productions.
