Mark Swezey
Director
Originally from New York City, Mark attended St. John's University, Ottawa University, and the University of Kansas. After finishing school, Mark studied acting and directing at LaMama ETC in New York City. Soon after returning to the Kansas City area, Mark became theatre director at Shawnee Mission South, where he created one of the most vibrant and student-led theatre programs in the Midwest. Awards: A Chorus Line and Cabaret (Best of Kansas City Theatre); Best Director for Company (The Barn Players); Best Director for Into the Woods (Greenroom Publications); Fantasticks (Top 10 at International Thespian Conference); Godspell (2012 Kansas State Thespian Conference); The Demmi Award and Founders Award (Theatre in the Park). Throughout his career, Mark has directed more than 350 productions. He views each production as a way to hold up a mirror to what is around us, to make the world a better place.
Skip Gordon
Technical Director
Skip has been at Shawnee Mission South since fall 2013. He is currently Technical Director at Rockhurst University and Technical Director for The KC Fringe Festival. He has worked at Theatre in the Park, Chestnut Fine Arts, and The Barn Players. He has also worked at other high schools in KC including Ruskin and Blue Valley West.
Patricia Berning
Costumes Coordinator
Patricia brings her skills in photography, sewing, and teaching to Shawnee Mission South Theatre, where she works as Costumes Coordinator. She is also the official photographer for shows at South. She has been married for 25 years to her husband Mike and they love to spend time with their wonderful family including their son Tim and his wife Murphy and new grandson Van, middle son Kevin and Jackie, and SMS graduate ('17) daughter Megan.

Jaimes Donovan, a junior, is absolutely thrilled to have the privilege of working as an assistant stage manager for this show!
