About Love's Labour's Lost

Welcome to the court of Ferdinand, King of Navarre...erm...I mean...Shermer High School, Shermer Illinois.

The year is 1981...or 1986...it might be 1989? We're not sure.
But the one thing we know is that the world of this play, written by William Shakespeare...or maybe John Hughes.

The thing we know is that you'll meet Ferdinand, he's a lot like Ferris Bueller, but more charming. He is a committed leader and friend. He hangs with Lord Berowne who is probably too smart for his own good, but also something of a criminal. Lord Longaville is an athlete, but Berowne calls him a sporto...Lord Dumaine is a brain...These guys have all agreed that they need to study, swear off women, and focus. Until the Princess of France shows up with her girls...

Basically, they (and everyone else at this school) think you're crazy to make them write an essay telling you who they think they are. You see them as you want to see them - in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what they found out is that each one of them is a brain...and an athlete...and a basket case...a princess...and a criminal...a goth...and a culture club reject...a burnout...a material girl who just wants to have fun...and a garage band...a cyborg sent from the future...a disgraced nuclear physicist and his teenage sidekick...a karate expert...and a bicycle riding friend of an alien...and a werewolf...a guy holding a boombox over his head outside your window...a girl wearing glasses who you'll never believe what happens when she takes the glasses off...

Sincerely Yours...
