About Circus in Place

Connecting community, artists, and the land that sustains us in a time of challenge and uncertainty.

Join our Nimble Artists in an interactive event in which you can watch the show, then meet the artists for Questions and Answers.

Circus in Place came out of a collaborative brainstorm by a group of circus artists living in Vermont whose livelihoods were turned up side down during the global pandemic.  We came together to build an outdoor, site specific, customized performance event. This is a video of that show as filmed on location in Brattleboro, Vermont in October, 2020. The show is available for tour booking for summer 2021.

Circus in Place is an outdoor walk through performance for all ages offered at host properties utilizing the natural landscape, trees, rock outcroppings, buildings and fields. The troupe will collaborate with native historians, local elders, and foresters to discover the story of the land that will be shared through circus theater, dance & music.

Be welcomed by a Native American Abenaki singer sharing history of place, marvel at an aerialist dancing in the trees alongside the story of the woods, enjoy circus performances that blend aerials, acrobatics, balancing & juggling with storytelling, laughter & entertainment.
