Reach Up - Rise Again Cast

Nathan Sarchet (Ensemble)
Nathan is a senior and has appeared in "The Chalk Garden" and "In 25 Words or Death." "In 25 Words or Death," he played a monster with lots of facial expressions, loud noises, and body language, but no lines. In "The Chalk Garden," he played the manservant (Maitland) who had many emotional mood swings and a fair amount of talking. He would like to thank Thomas LeClair for encouraging him to do his first play. He ended up really enjoying himself and making some awesome friends along the way.
Alyse Messmer (Ensemble)
Alyse is a senior and has appeared in 4 previous plays at MVC, starting with "Narnia: The Musical" in 7th grade, "Anne of Green Gables" in 8th grade, and "In 25 Words or Death" and "The Chalk Garden" both in high school. Her favorite line is from "Beethoven": "Out of all that sorrow and trouble, out of all that frustration and disappointment, out of all that deep and permanent silence, came all that majesty and joy." She would like to thank her brother for inspiring her to get into acting. He was the whole reason she first tried out for a play in 7th grade and then found out she loved theatre. She also thanks her family for always encouraging her and coming to her plays as many nights as they can. She'd like to thank Ms. Hansen for never typecasting her, and believing in her acting ability and Mr. Thayer for his musical guidance. Most of all, she'd like to thank her God who never ceases to amaze her and remind her this is all through Him. Psalm 40:1-3.
Anika Lubbers (Ensemble)
Anika is a Junior and this is her third production at MVC. Previous shows include "In 25 Words or Death" and "The Chalk Garden." Her favorite line is ¨Just wanna sleep till noon¨ from "Cleanin' Women." She would like to thank Ms. Hansen and Mr. Thayer for continuing to put on a show regardless of our numbers and for having as much of a passion for this shows as the actors. She would also like to thank her parents for being supportive, reviewing lines with her, and taking her to play practices (in sometimes multiple feet of snow) growing up. She would like to thank the cast for all the memories and the memories to come.
Kaeli Houck (Ensemble)
Kaeli is a senior at MVC and this is her first production here.
Kylee Russell (Ensemble)
Kylee is an eight grader and this is her first production at MVC. Her favorite line is, "I can jump a hurdle even with my girdle" from the song "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better." She would like to thank the cast members because they are very encouraging.
Liberty King (Ensemble)
Liberty is a seventh grader and this is her first production with MVC. She has two favorite lines: from "Meet Me In St. Louis", "I was going to wait till someone drove past, and then shout 'hit and run-hit and run!'" She likes this because Agnes reminds her of herself (a mischievous tomboy); from "The Stuff In The Sink" she also likes, "To top that, I saw her reach into the wet garbage bag and fish around in there looking around for a lost teaspoon BAREHANDED- a kind of UNBELIEVABLE courage." She likes this because it is very true; moms have this sixth sense where they can do anything nasty... without getting grossed out. She would like to thank her parents for letting her do her first musical ever; Ms. Hansen for letting her do this, even without any experience at all. She would also like to thank Daisy Youngquist for sprouting her dream to begin with. And last, but never least, she would like to thank God for making her who she is.
Ella Lervick (Ensemble)
Ella is a sixth grader and this is her first production with MVC. Her favorite line from the production is "It looks like a real person." She would like to thank Ms. Hansen and Mr. Thayer for all the help .
Brooklyn Hayes (Ensemble)
Brooklyn is a seventh grader and this is her first production at MVC. She would like to thank Ms. Hansen (and Mr. Thayer) for allowing middle-schoolers to participate in the play
