SMARTEN UP

The Manatee Arts Education Council is proud to host the smARTen Up Summer Camps in effort to enhance and enrich the learning of our district’s rising 1st-rising 6th grade students.  In addition to art and general music, students directly benefit from this program by receiving instruction from certified and highly-qualified arts educators in arts content areas not traditionally offered in the elementary arts curricula, including dance, theatre, band, orchestra, and media arts.  Parents benefit from knowing that their children’s education is being enriched in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.  Camp instructors benefit by receiving additional compensation from MAEC for working during summer hours. Local community arts organizations benefit by receiving income from field trips organized for students to visit their venues.  The future Manatee County economy will benefits as students discover traditional and non-traditional arts career opportunities available in our region.
