About Anastasia

Based on the beloved animated movie from 20th Century Fox, Anastasia is both a heartwarming and heart-wrenching dive into one of history’s biggest unanswered questions: what happened to Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov? Set amidst the turmoil of the Russian revolution with the Bolshevik regime on the rise, Anya, an amnesiac orphan stranded in what was once the Russian capital, St. Petersburg, is on a quest to rediscover her past which she believes lies in Paris. Joined by a dashing conman, Dmitry, and an ex-aristocrat, Vlad Popov, who want to use Anya to bamboozle the only remaining Romanov, Dowager Empress Marie into believing that Anya is the lost Anastasia, she escapes to Paris with a determined Soviet officer on their heels. Including classic songs from the motion picture like “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December”, Anastasia explores one determined girl’s journey to find home, love, and family as she discovers who she was and embraces who she is meant to be.

To Our Madison Theatre Patrons:

We are very excited to welcome visitors back to The Opal E. Sherman Auditorium with our production of Radium Girls (October 22-25, 2020) at Madison Consolidated High School!

We know you have been asking about what to expect when you come to our production of Radium Girls. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these challenging times, and we want you to know that we are doing our very best to provide a safe environment.

Using recommendations from our local/state government, the CDC, and the Educational Theatre Association, we are changing our performance, audience, and volunteer procedures to keep everyone safe. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our students, volunteers, and patrons.

Changes will include but are not limited to:

-MASKS: We are asking that anyone who enters our building wear a mask or face covering. We understand that this isn’t possible when eating/drinking concessions at your seat, but when moving throughout the theatre, or when you get up to go to the restroom or visit the concession stand, we ask everyone to wear a mask PLEASE! Our volunteers will all be wearing masks for your safety and theirs.

-SOCIAL DISTANCING:  We ask that everyone please maintain a safe social distance when moving throughout the theatre, in the lobby, in line for concessions, and our restrooms. We will have signs and directions in place to help with this.

-REDUCED CAPACITY: We will need to temporarily operate at reduced capacity so that we can maintain social distancing guidelines. We have adjusted our seating chart to create more space between parties. Our ushers will guide you to your seats to enjoy the show! We recommend you purchase your ticket, in advance, at our website address, our.show/madisontheatre/radiumgirls, to secure your spot. However, there will be tickets on sale at the door as well.

 -HEALTH & SAFETY:

• We will be implementing new cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the facility, and we will provide personal protective equipment for our volunteers.

• There will be hand sanitizer available in the lobby.

• Comprehensive disinfecting will also happen throughout your visit and between each performance to reduce the risk of COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria and viruses.

• All cast, crew, and volunteers will receive a temperature check upon arrival to the auditorium.

• Our stage crew, technical crew, and volunteers are required to wear a face mask and gloves.

-CONCESSIONS: You can still enjoy your favorite snacks; however, we ask that you only consume your food and beverage in your designated seat in the auditorium. Once you have finished with your food and drink, please cover up with your mask or face covering. We ask that you throw away your empty containers at the end of the show in our trash receptacles.

We will keep you updated on any further developments, but in the meantime, please follow us here to stay up-to-date and connected.

We are so thankful for your encouragement and support! Please be safe, stay healthy, and be entertained by Madison Theatre at The Opal E. Sherman Auditorium
