About Nunsense

Nunsense

A Musical Comedy with Book, Music & Lyrics by Dan Goggin.

A cast of 6 will perform the 1985 musical comedy written and scored by Dan Goggin. Originating as a line of greeting cards, Goggin expanded the concept into a cabaret show and eventually into a full-length musical. The show has been adapted into a popular television movie with six sequels and three spin-offs, which starred Rue McClanahan from Golden Girls.

The musical is set up as a variety show put on by 5 of 19 surviving nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken, a one-time missionary order that ran a leper colony on an island south of France. After their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, accidentally killed the other 52 nuns from the convent with her tainted vichyssoise soup while they were off playing bingo. The nuns are left trying to raise money for the last four burials of their departed sisters.
