Bus Stop Cast

Alex Gumminger (Virgil Blessing)
"Bus Stop” marks Alex’s fifth production, fourth onstage, with KCKCC! Previous KCKCC credits include “Into the Woods” (Narrator/Mysterious Man) and “Heathers” (Preppy Stud). Community credits include “Crazy for You” (Moose), “The Addams Family” (Fester), and most recently “Sounds of the Nativity” (Ensemble) at Worlds of Fun’s Winterfest. Later this semester he will be seen as a Cagelle in Spinning Tree’s production of “La Cage Aux Folles”. He plans to graduate this spring and transfer to a university.
Alexander Hatch (Bo Decker)
Second year performing at KCKCC working with wonderful people. He has been in Lobby Hero, and into the woods. Both directed by Cinnamon Schultz, The Election by Caleb Chipman, and many other productions. This is his fourth show at KCKCC, and he dreams to do more than just shows someday. He hopes to pursue a career in doing the things he loves.
Christina Schafer (Grace Hoyland)
is very excited to be working as a guest artist on this production for KCKCC. Most recently, she has worked for Kansas City Actors Theatre on their productions of “A Doll’s House” (Kristine) and “A Lie of the Mind” (Beth), and as Cass in “Wonder of the World” at the Wright Opera House in Ouray, Colorado. This summer she’ll be traveling back to Ouray for a series of readings. Christina is honored to serve on KCAT’s Board of Directors. Thanks to Darren for the opportunity, and to everyone at KCKCC who helped make this a terrific experience!
Julia Hartner (Elma Duckworth)
This is Julia’s 7th show here at KCKCC and her second time acting in a show. Last semester she stage managed the musical “Into the Woods” and made her directorial debut with “No Exit”. She is very excited for the opportunity to be in this show and hopes everyone enjoys the show!
Logan Black* (Carl)
Is thrilled to be working with the students at KCKCC on “Bus Stop”. Locally he has been seen in “A Doll’s House Part 2”, “Bond, An Octoroon” and “Seminar” (Unicorn Theatre), two productions of “A Christmas Carol”, “Our Town” (KC Rep); “King Lear”, “I’m Not Rappaport”, “Journey’s End” (Kansas City Actors Theatre); “Measure for Measure” (Confluence Theatre); “Merchant of Venice”, “Antony and Cleopatra”, (Heart of America Shakespeare). Regional credits include: “Much Ado About Nothing”, “To Kill A Mockingbird” (Colorado Shakespeare) “Hamlet”, “The School for Scandal” (Riverside Theatre). He is the founder of the Confluence Theatre Company, resident fight choreographer for the Unicorn Theatre and Butoh dance choreographer. He has an MFA in Acting & Directing from UMKC and is a proud Actors Equity Member.
Tyler Rowe (Dr. Gerard Lyman)
Tyler is thrilled to return to KCKCC after graduating in 2015. Recent work includes “A Doll’s House” (KCAT), “Tuck Everlasting” (The Coterie), “Assasins” (Spinning Tree), and “Falsettos” (Faust). All the love in the world to Bridget.
Venus Irias (Cherie)
Venus is a graduate of Turner High School. This is her sophomore year at Kansas City Kansas Community College, and this is her sixth production with the college. She has been in other productions including: “Heathers the Musical”, “Doubt: a Parable”, “The Addams Family Musical”, “The Crucible”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Into the Woods”, and “The Election”. Venus would like to thank everyone for supporting the show.
