John Rowell
This production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown marks Mr. Rowell’s 18th show as director at Gilman School. Previously he directed On The Town (2006), Grand Hotel (2007), Anything Goes (2008), Little Me (2009), Ancestral Voices (2010), Guys and Dolls (2010), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (2011), How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (2012), Damn Yankees (2013), Spamalot (2014), Nice Work If You Can Get It (2015), The Addams Family (2016), Curtains (2017), Barnum (2018), Crazy For You (2019), and Me and My Girl (Cancelled—March 2020). Earlier this year, Mr. Rowell staged a production of The Government Inspector which featured both Gilman faculty members and students in the cast. Mr. Rowell is a member of Gilman’s Upper School English Department, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Bennington College. He is deeply grateful to his amazing collaborators and to the extraordinary cast and crew of Charlie Brown.

Andrew Gordon
Andrew is elated to return to Gilman, having worked on last year’s Me and My Girl. An electrical engineer by day and calculus tutor outside of the office, Andrew holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received the WATCH Awards for his music direction of Nine with Colonial Players and choreography in Crazy For You with the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, in addition to nominations for his choreography of Singin’ in the Rain, The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, and Mary Poppins with 2nd Star Productions. Favorite onstage credits include West Side Story, Chicago, Can-Can, The Producers, and Evita, among others. Also a classically trained pianist, Andrew has premiered original theatrical compositions alongside lyricist Danny Baird at venues throughout Manhattan and Washington including 54 Below, Signature Theatre, and the Kennedy Center. Endless love and thanks to the Charlie Brown cast and team, his saintly family, and his inspirational mentors.

Liz Sesler-Beckman
Liz serves as Director of Middle School Music at Gilman School. She is delighted to work with the talented and dedicated Upper School faculty, cast, and crew for this production and is particularly grateful for the opportunity to share in-person music-making once again at Gilman. Liz has played with several jazz groups, including the Stan Kenton Alumni Band and Jazz Caravan. She worked for over two decades as Associate Director of Music at Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore. Liz earned her degrees in music from Wellesley College (Bachelor of Arts) and Tufts University (Master of Arts).

Peter has been teaching and performing music around the Baltimore and DC region for the past 25 years. He has been the Director of Bands at Gilman School for the past eight years and has conducted all the recent Gilman Upper School musicals, including Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Addams Family, Curtains, Barnum, and Crazy For You. Before coming to Gilman, he was the band, choir, and orchestra director at Hereford High School in Parkton, MD.In addition to his teaching career, Peter has been able to remain active as a performer around the region as a trumpet player, guitar player, and singer. Peter received his undergraduate degree in Performance and Music Education at the Peabody Conservatory, and his Master’s in Trumpet Performance at The University of New Mexico.Peter is also a dedicated father of four, who enjoys spending time camping, fishing, and biking with his wife and children.
Kelsey Carper
Asst. Director
Kelsey is thrilled to be on the production team for her sixth Gilman show. Her previous productions include Me and My Girl, Crazy For You, Barnum, Waiting for Godot, and Curtains. Ms. Carper teaches Upper School English at Gilman School and is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland and Notre Dame of Maryland University. She would like to thank Mr. Rowell for the opportunity to be a part of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and would like to congratulate the cast on a job well done. Break a leg!
Christopher Flint '07
Scenic Design/Technical Director
Christopher is the Technical Director at Gilman School where he has designed all the theatre productions since the fall of 2011. Locally, he has won the “Best Scenic Design” award (B.I.T.R. Sisters) and received a Broadway World Baltimore nomination for his work on Jerusalem at Fells Point Community Theatre (FPCT). In addition to numerous other shows at FPCT, he has done work for The Collaborative Theatre Company, Iron Crow, and Young Victorian Theatre Company. He currently serves as the Secretary of FPCT and when not being kept busy by theatre, he is kept busy by his new puppy.
David Crandall
Sound & Lighting Design
David has been an active, award-winning designer and composer in the Washington-Baltimore theater scene for over three decades. Recent projects include live productions of GALA Hispanic Theater’s El perro del hortelano last October and La Tía Julia y el escritor this year, and Spooky Action Theater’s Impossible Plays virtual productions from last fall and winter.
Diane Fuller
Properties Coordinator
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is Ms. Fuller’s ninth show at Gilman, including stints as a production assistant, box office manager, and properties mistress for Damn Yankees, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Curtains, The Addams Family, Barnum, and Crazy For You. When not making valentines or scouring shops, attics, and garages for props, she can be found in the US Library or the Publications Lab with the News staff. Ms. Fuller is a graduate of Seton Hall University and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She thanks Mr. Rowell for his friendship, humor, and love of theatre, and her family for their support.
