Dave Arts
DirectorWhen he's not teaching American History to juniors, Mr. Arts is directing the annual November play production at the high school. This year's is number 21. Dave has also done a bit of acting. Some favorite roles: Bogart in Play It Again, Sam; Orin in Little Shop of Horrors: Teach in American Buffalo and Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Set Designer
Julie ChrobakMs. Chrobak has worked in the Visual arts Department at CHS since 2006 teaching Crafts 1 & 2, Stagecraft and Ceramics. She has also enjoyed working on both the fall play and spring musical designing scenery and working with Stagecrew. Prior to teaching and in her summers off Ms. Chrobak works as a professional Scenic Artist painting scenery for television, film and Broadway productions. Ms. Chrobak is looking forward to another great year working with Stagecrew!
Construction Coordinator
Mike MolnerMike has been working with students and parents building scenery at Christopher Columbus Middle School for many years. He has been working with the High School students and staff for the last four years creating magnificent set pieces and teaching students how to build.
Lighting Designer
Jeff HornIt is with great satisfaction that Mr Horn teaches stage sound/lighting processes and techniques for students in the AV Club the past 15 years at Clifton High School. His goal is for the students to work together in a team-oriented partnership, using audio and lighting equipment, in an effort to produce the most technically creative decisions for all of our CHS productions! The student designers and electricians work on both our fall play and spring musical each year making sure our actors and scenery both look and sound great.
Costume Designer
Maryann IrizarryMaryann has been working in local theater for over 12 years starting with the CHS Fall Play in 2007 when her son was cast in the show. She looks forward every year to collaborating with Dave, Julie and the students. In 2009, she joined the Theater League of Clifton, costuming shows, moving into producing shows and becoming their Vice President. After a 10 year run with the Theater League, she is looking ahead to a new theater endeavor in North Jersey, but hopes to still return to CHS each Fall Play. It is such a joy to watch the students become their characters.
Sound Effects Consultant
Michael McCunneyMr. McCunney has been the CHS CAST teacher for twenty-one years and loves working with Mr. Arts as they create the sounds you hear each year during the fall plays. Mr. McCunney enjoys teaching Television and Film and has even done some acting himself in outdoor theater productions of My Fair Lady and 1776. He hopes to work with Mr. Arts again in the acclaimed Faculty Holiday Sketch.
Stage Manager
Gabriela ValdeviaGabriela is the stage manager for this years fall play Rumors by Neil Simon. This is her second year of high school and second fall play that she has participated in. Last year was her first year of stage crew and it’s really become a passion and she plans to continue with it in the future.

Sadie BevandoSadie Bevando, who is stage managing, is remarkably excited to be working with Clifton High School’s fall play, Rumors. Sadie is a senior and is hoping to be studying Costume Design at university. She likes to help at school and community activities alike. Sadie previously studied acting at the Broadway Performing Arts school with Josephine Roberts and Elisa Heinsohn for four years. She was involved in productions beginning in middle school including Aladdin and The Lion King. For two years, Sadie studied film and audio production at a tech school. She began to help behind-the-scenes a year ago and her first show as a crew member was Clifton High School’s Anything Goes. She is an enthusiastic worker and aspires to travel around the world. Her fascination in cultures and languages has led her to study both Japanese and Sign Language throughout her high school career. Sadie would like to thank Ms. Chrobak and her fellow crew members for a memorable time.
