The Odd Couple Cast

Bill Barnes (Oscar)
Now coming back full circle, Bill actually began his theatrical career 47 years ago in his high school production of The Odd Couple, playing the role of Murray that time. He was cast in various shows throughout the rest of his school years. While stationed on Guam after high school, he played the role of The Young Man in The American Dream and George Gibbs in Our Town, both community theater productions. Fast forwarding quite a few years, Bill returned to the stage in the title role of Park Avenue Players’ production of The Traveling Troubadour. He has had many roles, larger and smaller, over the subsequent dozen or so years. Bill has also directed two shows, Curtain Up and Vintage Hitchcock. He was most recently seen in Park Avenue Player’s production of Sylvia.
Daniel Greene (Felix)
Daniel caught the acting bug in high school and has continued to enjoy it since. He would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew for all their hard work in making this such a exciting and fun production. He would especially like to thank Deanna and Bill for all there advice in helping him to improve as an actor.
Dave Tupek (Murray)
Dave Tupek is a 70 year old relative neophyte to the stage here in Chewelah. His most recent role was as the Announcer for the Park Avenue Players production of "Vintage Hitchcock." While working at Valley School as a para-educator, Dave was in three Productions with other staff members, playing the part of the Big Bad Wolf in two plays and the King of the Castle in the third. Dave would like to thank his family for their support as he embarks on this new path.
Bob Stevens (Vinnie)
Bob is excited to be returning to Park Avenue Players as Vinnie in this wonderfully-written play by Neil Simon. He got his start on stage after watching his kids having such a great time participating in StageTime and the school theater programs in Chewelah, and has enjoyed the experiences on-stage ever since. Bob is honored to have played parts in productions of Arsenic and Old Lace, Dearly Departed, Honk!, Oliver, and his personal favorite Drowsy Chaperone. Bob would like to thank his wife for her 30 yrs of stellar patience, as well as thank the directors of past shows for somehow believing he could act or actually carry a tune.
Steve Warner (Speed)
I am honored, humbled and grateful to be a part of this GREAT cast for The Odd Couple. I hope you enjoy this rousing tale of betrayal, intrigue, and shipboard romance. There is gambling, feasting and suicide. All the elements of a great comedy. Oh wait, that’s another thing, maybe on Netflix. Join us in this rousing tale of a love triangle between two people, set high in the Andes, during the time of the Russian Revolution. Wait, wait, that’s not it. This is it, a tale of two cowboys in love with the same sister, with a back drop of the American West in the 17th century, watch carefully as this story comes crashing down around their heads! On never mind, whatever. Next time I’ll read the script before I do my bio. Please just watch to see what it’s really about and tell me afterwards. As always I want to thank my manger, agent and bride of 25+ years, Cindy. You are loved!
Tom Walters (Roy)
Tom got his start in theatre in 1980 while living in Japan, when he co-wrote, directed and acted in a spoof based on a Japanese folk tale. He has been a regular member of the Park Avenue Players since the early 90's, and has been in over 20 of their shows. He has also been in Peter Pan, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Joseph and the Amazing Technical or Dreamcoat with Stagetime Theatre.
Kathryn Patton (Gwendolyn)
As a relative newcomer to Chewelah, I’ve been looking forward to volunteering with the theatre community here. Little did I know that when I came down to volunteer, I would actually audition and get a part! While new here, I’m no stranger to the stage. From my first show in high school, The Gift of the Magi, to playing my ‘bucket list’ role of Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha, fortune has allowed me to be involved in community theatre for over 45 years. I just love this community and the talent here in our little corner of the world is nothing short of amazing! Happy to be a part of it all!
Bonnie Spencer (Cecily)
I play the part of Cicily Pidgeon in the spectacular play “The Odd Couple” by Jason Mulligan and directed by the fabulous Deanna Barnes! This play has been so much fun to perform in and I am truly blessed to be a part of it. I first “caught the acting bug” as a child growing up at Waitts Lake on the family farm. My three siblings and I constantly used our imagination for hours upon hours to invoke and inspire creative activity.” My first stage was on the living room floor in front of the family “television set.” It was there I would perform ardently-- mimicking random “TV stars.” I want to thank Deanna, Bill, and the many other dedicated directors and actors who have been an integral part of this journey! When I’m not working as a social worker or “playing;” I like to spend as much time as possible with my eight wonderful children and my incredible grandchildren! Thank you for coming and I hope you enjoy the show!
