About Once on This Island

Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island, guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.

**We are excited to announce two newly offered classes for the 2020-2021 school year - Sign up before it’s too late!**

Acting Company: this class is for students who want to strengthen their acting abilities. If singing and/or dancing, makes you nervous, no worries! This class focuses solely on acting, characterization, and building a believable character. If you want to be prepared for your high school theatre program, then this class is a MUST for you. We will be performing one acts, diving into Shakespeare, creating our own scripts and sharing them with elementary students. This class is going to be such a wonderful growing experience for all actors. It will be during the fall semester and either 4th or 8th period. Pre-requisites are Theatre I and Theatre II. Bonus: this class is taught by both theatre teachers: Ms. Frost AND Mrs. Meadows.

Musical Productions: if you want to be in the spring 2021 school musical, then you MUST audition for this class. Instead of having rehearsal every day after school for two months, we get to rehearse during the school day. This is exciting news! And means that rehearsal time after school will be very minimal, so you can do other extra-curricular activities. This class will be during the last period of the day (either 4th or 8th period) in Spring Semester. You will need to prepare a song and monologue, but we will give you more information in the coming months. Any and all students are welcome to audition; no pre-requisites are necessary! Tell your friends! This is going to be awesome! Bonus: this class is taught by both theatre teachers: Ms. Frost AND Mrs. Meadows.
