About The Quail Trail Murder

An original online murder mystery by James Rayfield

Quail Trail Township is a small dot on the map—the post office, police station, and Piggly Wiggly grocery store are all in the same building—actually all in the same room. But even such a quiet place can have its dramas and this one begins when suburban housewife Joan finds the body of her husband—her unfaithful husband. Fearing she’ll be a suspect because of the divorce she is pursuing, she seeks help from her friend, and CSI fan, Amy. Bambi, local police chief, gets involved, and so do other local characters such as the floozie hairdresser, a shady insurance agent, and a less than brilliant police officer. To make matters worse, the dead body will not stay in one place. Who done it? Who moved it? And who solves the crime?

Carrollwood Cultural Center

It’s where a 5-year-old girl discovers that she’s an artist, a 70-year-old man discovers he’s a musician, a 35-year-old woman learns ballet and a family grows stronger by sharing the stage together.

It’s the banquet hall where Anna married Luis. It’s the meeting room where Jennifer launched her career. It’s the stage where Oliver found a family and a Music Man traded swindling for love.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is much more than a building. It’s the place where strangers become friends and friends become family.

Above all, it’s a place where a community came together to  prove—and continue to prove–that ordinary citizens can, through their labors and generosity, determine the culture of the place in which they live out their lives.
