JESSY KRONENBERG - CA Dances Lead, Dance Credential Task Force Chair

El Cerrito High School 

Jessy Kronenberg has been a co-Board President for CDEA since 2014.  In that time she has focused the organization's K-12 education advocacy efforts on updating the CA Visual and Performing Arts Standards and reinstating the CA Single-Subject Credentials in Dance and Theater. Jessy is also known as "Ms. K" to the dancers at El Cerrito High School, her alma mater, where she directs the Dance Program. She holds BAs in Environmental Studies and Dance from Pitzer College, and an MA in Teaching from Western Carolina University. Jessy danced and toured with Asheville Contemporary Dance Theater and taught Modern Dance at EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia before returning home to CA in 2012. 


KIM HOJ - Co-President Year 2

Nordhoff High School

Kim Hoj (BA Sociology, UCSB 1991; M.Ed. Teaching, UCSB 1998) is the founder and teacher for the Nordhoff High School Dance Program and Dance Impact Collaborative. Kim is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling within the Lesley University Expressive Arts Therapies program, working towards board certification as a dance movement therapist. Kim’s many years of experience as a dance, psychology and social science teacher, school counselor, and assistant principal inform her work. From 2017-2019, she served as a Visual and Performing Arts and Career Technical Education coordinator in Santa Barbara Unified School District and completed the California Department of Education Leadership Development Institute in 2018. She has also served as a consultant for the Ventura Unified Arts Collaborative and currently supports the Leni Fe Bland Performing Arts Partnership. Kim believes in the power of dance through equitable access and self-expression to promote transformative life experiences for students of all ages. She is married to a fellow educator, John Hoj, who teaches United States History and Theatre Arts at Nordhoff High School; they have 3 children.


MYSHIA LEBOSS - President Elect, Southern California

Paloma Valley High School

Myshia LeBoss (formerly known as Myshia Moten), is an LA-Based dancer, choreographer and veteran teacher. As a student, she studied classical ballet with Stephan Wenta, Arturo Fernandez, Sophie Monet and Alain Eubert, and Modern dance under Charles Edmonson, Karen McDonald, Susan McClain, Jeff Slayton, Keith Johnson, and Winifred R. Harris. Her professional credits include dancing as a soloist and principal dancer with the companies of Winifred R Harris' Between Lines, Loretta Livingston and Dancers, Karen McDonald's New Age Dance Workshop, the Ballet Collective of Los Angeles, and Marshall Dance Company. Hailed as both "exquisite" and "commanding" by the Los Angeles Times, Mrs. LeBoss made quite an impression as a performer by allowing her passion for dance to emanate from her body, off the stage and directly into her audience's hearts. The last two years of her Company experience, she toured locally, dancing the role of Ms. Katherine Dunham. As a choreographer, her work has been equally praised and can be seen in the repertoire of Marshall Dance Company. Mrs. LeBoss founded LeBoss Company Dance in 2014 - a dance company based in Riverside County. Her company is dedicated to providing a place for dance, art and choreography to live together with its main purpose-to affect change. Over the last 20 years, Mrs. LeBoss has touched the lives of over 3000 public school students by teaching them the art and love of dance. She taught Dunham technique for two consecutive years at the Debbie Allen Dance Institute Texas. Mrs. LeBoss holds a BA in Dance from Long Beach State University, a Master's in Education from National University and is currently working on her Dissertation on Dance and Leadership at St. Thomas University. As an educator, she has developed dance programs and authored curriculum in LA Unified School District, Pasadena Unified School District and Perris Union High School District. Currently Mrs. LeBoss teaches full time at a public high school in Riverside County as well as continues to choreograph works for LeBossCoDance. Mrs. LeBoss has a passion for Equity in Education and has served her school district for the last 4 years as the Director of Ethnic Minorities for PSEA, and Lead teacher on the District Equity Committee.


CHANADA A. TURNER - Secretary

Rancho Verde High School

Chanada A. Turner a.k.a. Cha Cha holds a B.A.in Theatre Arts and Dance, a M.F.A in Dance, and a M.A. in Secondary Education. She is a renowned dancer, cheer and dance coach, teacher, and choreographer having traveled to teach and perform throughout the United States. She was the Director of the Toro Dance Company at Cal State University Dominguez Hills as well as the Assistant to the Coordinator of the Dance Department while at CSUDH. She is a graduate of the Orange County School of the Arts and a former dance staff for U.S. Spirit Leaders, which led her to coach, choreograph, and win titles for numerous dance and cheer teams at the high school and college level. She is also a member of the National Dance Education Organization and the California Dance Education Association where she sits on the Executive Board as the Secretary. She is a former Laker Girl and is trained in the disciplines of classical and contemporary ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, and hip-hop. She is also trained in the Modern techniques of Lester Horton and Jose Limon. Cha Cha now serves as the Director of Dance at RVVHS.
