About 16th Annual One Act Play Festival

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Since 2006, Artists’ Exchange has hosted the One Act Play Festival (OAPF) for the entertainment and enjoyment of the Cranston community. Short plays are submitted from local, regional, and national playwrights and then selected for performance by a panel of directors/actors. In celebration of summer, we will be holding our event outside for the very first time!

This year we are excited to feature a performance by Firefly Theatre Company, a new theatre company based in North Attleboro, MA, as well as performances by members of our Youth Theatre Internship, and our in-house directors and regional actors!  This event is one the whole family will enjoy; you won't want to miss out!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where will the festival be held?

The Festival will be held outdoors, in the large parking lot adjacent to 50 Rolfe Sq, Cranston, RI 02910.  There will be signage for parking and seating on the days of the festival.

How long is the Festival?

Each performance is approximately 10-minutes in length. There are seven shows, for a total of approximately 70 minutes, with a 15-minute intermission.

What is the difference between POD Seating and General Admission seating?

General admission seating is priced per-seat, and will be on both the left and right sides of the stage. On this ticketing site, you are able to select your seats.

Pod seating is priced to allow families (or groups) to sit together in their own space, and can accommodate up to eight people. Each 'pod' is 9x9 feet with spacing around each pod. Pods must bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, etc.

Can I eat and drink at the festival?

In accordance with local guidelines, we are not able to serve food or beverage at the festival. Pod seating patrons may bring food and drink for their pod; food and drink is not permitted in the General Admission seating area.  Additionally, there are many incredible local restaurants on Rolfe Sq that are open before and after the festival - check in June for Festival specials!

Where can I park?

Parking is free in the lot surrounding the festival location. Parking will be accessible by both Rolfe Sq. and Richard Street.  During the show, Richard Street will be the only entrance and exit of the parking area. Following the show, both Rolfe Sq. and Richard Street will be open for use.
