Rock of Ages Cast

Andrew Edwards (Drew)
Andrew is a recent graduate from Marshall University and currently works as a Cyber Security Engineer in Charleston, WV. He's no stranger to the stage, having been involved in over 20 productions, and most recently could be seen as Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid with HART in the Park. When not onstage, Andrew can be found playing drums with his rock band, boxing with his trainer, or dancing in his boxers at his apartment. Andrew hopes you all enjoy getting your faces absolutely melted!
Heather Allen (Sherrie)
Heather is excited for the opportunity to make her Alban Arts Center debut as Sherrie in Rock of Ages. She has been involved in theater for many years through the Charleston Light Opera Guild and Actors Guild of Parkersburg. Recent/Favorite credits include Wednesday in The Addams Family, Lucy in Bright Star, Amy in Company, Inga in Young Frankenstein and Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray. Others credits include Rocky Horror Picture show, Prelude to a Kiss, White Christmas, Ragtime and The Fully Monty.
Stephen Hayward (Stacee Jaxx)
Stephen is excited to rock out on the Alban stage again after playing Paul in Moon Over Buffalo and appearing in Romeo and Juliet. Over the past 25 years Stephen has been seen on many stages here in West Virginia and his home state of Ohio. Some of his favorite roles have been Lefou in Beauty and the Beast, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, Tony in West Side Story and Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. When not on stage Stephen can be found doing murder mysteries or streaming board games on Twitch where he gets to show off his impressive collection of over 200 board games. Stephen also enjoys doing magic, juggling, balloon animals, and baby llamas.
Kennie Bass (Dennis Dupree)
Kennie makes his Alban Arts Center debut playing the role of Dennis Dupree. He is a News Anchor/Reporter for WCHS-TV/WVAH-TV.
Sheila Jarrett (Justice)
Sheila Jarrett wants you to know that she LOVES the music in this show! Active in the local community theater scene for over a decade, she has performed with: Charleston Stage Company in WV: Words and Music, and Love, Loss and What I Wore. Kanawha Players in Tom Sawyer - the Musical, Harvey, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Contemporary Youth Arts Company in Jack the Ripper, Mercy, several productions of Mary, the Norman Rockwell shows and the Best of Scarpelli and Kehde. The Alban Arts Center in Sleeping Beauty. The Charleston Light Opera Guild in Hello Dolly, HAIR and Sister Act. Murder and Merriment has been another avenue of fun. Working her way up backstage from the “dark garb of the techie”, she has also enjoyed “behind the scenes” actively producing, assistant directing and directing. Growing up, her parents instilled a love of all types of music. She has continued sharing that love with her own children and granddaughter, Riley.
Megan Collins (Regina)
Megan is making her Alban debut as the spitfire Regina. She has 8 years of theatre experience. Some of her favorite roles include Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Lady of the Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot, and Fraulein Kost in Cabaret, all with the Charleston Light Opera Guild. Megan graduated from WVU with a BA in Music in 2014. When she isn't on stage you can find her streaming on Twitch. She lives in Charleston with her husband Derek, their dog Fritz and two cats, Nox and River.
Leslie Raab (Waitress #1/Destiny)
Leslie has been part of the theater scene more than 10 years. She has played a murderess in Chicago, Moonbeam McSwine in Lil Abner, Linda in Evil Dead, the title role in Antigone, Hero in A Midsummer Nights Dream, and other ensemble roles. She returns to the Alban playing Waitress #1 and Destiny in Rock of Ages. When not on stage, she enjoys modeling, dancing, and spending time with her three wonderful kids. She is thrilled to be a part of this show and can't wait to rock with you!
Clayton Strohmenger (Lonnie)
Clayton has performed many shows with the Alban Arts Center including: Urinetown as Bobby Strong, Oedipus: An Appalachian Tragedy as Preacher, The Importance of Being Earnest as Cecily, Matilda the Musical as Rudolpho, It’s a Wonderful Life as Harry Bailey, as well as numerous shows with the Charleston Light Opera Guild. He has recently moved to Charleston and is excited to see what future opportunities unfold.
Jacob Fleck (Franz)
Jacob is making his first appearance on the Alban stage in Rock of Ages, Jacob has performed in several shows with the Charleston Light Opera Guild including: 42nd Street, The Little Mermaid, Cabaret, Les Miserables, The Bridges of Madison County, and Anything Goes. Jacob also sings with two groups in the area, Rubber Soul WV and Pianoke WV. When he is not on stage, Jacob works at Bible Center School.
Ash Cowder (Hertz Klineman)
This is Ash’s 10th Alban show, previously playing the Escapologist in Matilda, Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, and Aegeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has been active in theatre and music since High School where he played the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. At WV Wesleyan College he stare as Hero in A Funny Thing….Forum, and Pirelli in Sweeney Todd. Ash has been a member of the WV Symphony Chorus for many years in operas and choral works. Ash also played the role of Uncle Fester in The Addams Family with CLOG.
Lauren Spadafora (Constance)
Lauren recently played Murderer 1/Thane in St. Albans Shakespeare in the Park: Macbeth. She was also in the ensemble of the CLOG production of Ragtime and the Alban’s Matilda the Musical, as well as a singer in Woman’s Song. Previously she payed Keys in Miami University Stage Left’s productions of Tick..Tick..Boom!, Batboy the Musical and Carriage Place Player’s Hairspray. Lauren moved to Charleston last year to serve as Vest Virginia’s respiratory disease epidemiologist. Love to Gable!
Cameran Macklin (Joey Primo)
Cameran is a student at Marshall University who enjoys performing all around Huntingon and Charleston. Cameran has performed for a a few theatre groups in the areas such as Charleston Light Opera Guild and CYAC. He eventually wants to go to Illinois and perform in Chicago.
Phill Warnock (Mayor/Ja’Keith)
Phil is stoked to be back on the Alban stage. By day, Phill is an Architect working with Chapman Technical Group. In the evenings he occasionally plays with the Alban, CTOC, CLOG, Murder and Merriment, and sings with the Kanawha Kordsmen. By night, he's in bed by 10:00, 'cause he's too old for that now. He says, "This show has the music I danced to in the 80's with my very own small town girl, who was with me then and is still the one who stands by me. Rock On! And enjoy the show!"
Jennifer Anderson (DJ/Protester)
Jen likes theatre. A regular at the Alban, she acts, makes props, wrangles children, sells snacks and occasionally helps paint a set. (Sometimes the set designer doesn’t even re-paint after she leaves…Loren) This however, is her first venture in to singing and dancing at the same time. Will, in front of people anyway. Jennifer’s favorite previous roles are Aunt Julia in Hedda Gabler, the Nurse in Romeo & Juilet, and Witch #1 in the Shakespeare play Marlette won’t let her mention.
Nikki Ardman (Ambrosia/Protester)
Nikki is a science teacher at Capitol High School. She’s a mother of four and grandmother of one little girl. While she has no background in theatre, she’s happy and excited to build her skills at the Alban. She’s making her debut appearance on stage in the face-melting production!
Faith Medley (Young Groupie)
Faith has been doing Theatre in West Virginia for a little over 11 years having started at 6 Years of age with the Alban’s first production of Annie. She is very excited to have found herself back after so long to pperfom in Rock of Ages, and has had a wonderful time playing Stacee Jaxx’s stalker.
Krista Summers (Sapphire/Ensemble)
Krista makes her musical debut at the Alban in Rock of Ages as part of the ensemble. This is her first performance outside of leading worship at church since high school choir in 1996. She is a supporter of the YWCA GNO event that helps efforts to eradicate domestic violence and volunteers in the community with organizations such as United Way, Habitat For Humanity and WVCAN to name a few through her employer City National Bank. Krista has been with City National for 15 years and manages a branch in South Hills. She loves her two children, two grandchildren, music and Jesus, to whom she gives all glory for giving her strength and joy through hard times...and a sense of humor to laugh it off and keep rockin on!
Samantha Phalen (Feral Protester)
Samantha returns to the Alban scene as a protestor and ensemble member in “Rock of Ages”. Acting only for a little over a year, she has put in her best effort to participate in Alban shows whenever possible, adding shows such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, The Scottish Play (I have a gut feeling it would be a wise choice to avoid uttering the name here-), and “Matilda: the Musical” to her list of credits prior to joining the cast of “Rock of Ages”. Currently a Putnam county student, she spends her days at school, at the theatre either in acting classes or show rehearsals, or at home, performing a one-woman show to her latest theatrical obsession. She is thrilled to be able to rock it out with this amazing cast, and more than encourages you to come check out the radical show we’ve put together!
